The last Simpsons episode I saw was the reality show episode.  After seeing it, I mourned the death of good Simpsons comedy.

I got the Season 3 DVDs the other week, just so I had some material to research my Media Studies coursework from and it reminded me just how great The Simpsons was at one point.

I used to be a huge fan of the simpsons. When i was a kid it had enough slap stick humour to keep me interested. As i got older i noticed the more mature jokes and the old episodes only got funnier.

But now the simpsons has just gone to being plain stupid. And not in a funny Fry way. I mean the most recent episode i saw had Homer buy all this crap for his car and drive it off a peir while trying to be a DJ. Ugh.

Truth be told though if the simpsons got better then i would watch it again.

Damn fox.....

I don't watch the Simpsons (used to, when I was little and a while ago, because it was on before Robotwars). I'm collecting all the DVD boxes of Futurama, so I can watch them forever!

I used to LOVE watching the Simpsons but now it's not very funny anymore while Futurama is.

Well they do say it is always darkest before the dawn... perhaps the new Simpsons season will be gold. Unlike the last one which had about three and a half good episodes.
The problem with the Simpsons, and to a lesser extent some of the Futurama episodes, is that the characters become too ingrained in their stereotypes. A good break in character adds a lot of refreshing depth to a series.
I for one remember when Lisa was not always saintly, bart not always devil may care, and Homer not always some bumbling bufoon whose actions defy all concepts of reality. I hope the Simpson's get back their wit, satire, and subtelty; if not, then i hope they won't flog the dead horse any longer.

I say they should be cancelled.  They've lived long enough.
And welcome to PEEL, Tropic of Fry.

Oy! Simpsons ISN'T as good as it used to be, but there are still some good episodes. I'd say about 1/4 of them are bad, 1/4 of them are good, and 1/2 are pretty average.

Here in Australia... Simpsons is alot more popular. But if they showed Futurama on TV more often i think that Futurama would be more liked! The Simpsnos is on everynight here at 6pm where as Futurama is on every Tuesday at 11pm. Its dumb.. Futurama is so much funnier.. the jokes are awesome. I dont like simpsons its barely funny. Its always just a story, not funny.

Actually Fox canceling Futurama made me hate the Simpsons and realize how stupid the recent season was.
