I think Fox may just be trying to use up some of the rerun rights before they hand them to Cartoon Network in November, when all the new Sunday shows would start (yeah....June through October equals "summer" these days).  I'd guess each McSeason 5 episode will show for at least its second time (which means we might have to wait on "Jurassic Bark", "Crimes of the Hot", and "Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles" if they replay those at all), and possibly a third time since the general rule is that they show each episode three times before giving up on them.

As for why they're double headers, that would be for two reasons: one is that they pre-empted the show (even when they could've just shown a rerun at least) so many G-Damn times with Simpsons and KOTH reruns, they no longer have enough of those reruns left to play (again, the three episode rule).  By the same token, since they rarely showed reruns even, they have catching up to do if they want to have each one show a second or even possibly third time.

8/31 - ANOTHER DOUBLE FEATURE
7:00 - A Taste of Freedom (4ACV05)
7:30 - The Sting (4ACV12)

Two great episodes this time.

True, but I have more confidence in ATF, than in TvGuide. TvGuide have been wrong before, whereas Don Del Grande are pretty spot on.

Im glad they are going to be showing the re runs. Though I dont see the purpose. I wish fox would let futurama go so someone else could pick it up.

This is the way that my TiVo is showing future FOX episodes looking, too.  I trust my TiVo.....   :flirt:

Haven't seen Taste Of Freedom, but, I do enjoyed The Sting, and would love to see it again (Got my avatar from it).

And, let's hope TV Guide strighten up-otherwise they be marking the Sting repeat as "Postponed From An Earlier Date"!!!  ;)

Fox sure has some impeccable timing. During the first commercial break of "Kif Gets Knocked up", they decided to show an ad for Futurama Volume 2. They waited UNTIL NOW!! I don't think Fox has done an ad for Volume 1.

Yeah they did, during the commercials for "The Why of Fry" I believe. I was shocked by that.
Actually, do they even have promos for the Simpsons sets?

Speaking of which, I just saw said episode for the first time, and it was rather good.  Definately not as bad as a lot of people led me to believe...it felt like, well, an "average" Futurama episode.  I especially liked Zoidberg crying like a baby! 4/5

@Shadowstar: Go to the angry dome if you're gonna do that.

Anyway, I've just now realized the pattern behind the FOX reruns (I have no idea if anyone else figured this out already, no one's mentioned it yet). If they keep airing the double headers, it looks like:

9/7
Bender Should Not be Allowed on TV
Bend Her

9/14
Jurassic Bark
Obsoletely Fabulous

9/21
Crimes of the Hot
Farnsworth Parabox

9/28
Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles
Three Hundred Big Boys

But I doubt it'll get that far before they change their schedule again.

Sorry, but football starts on Sept. 7.  On that date it's scheduled to last until 7:30, and after that they're showing Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.  Looks like the reruns won't continue past the 31st.

Yeah, in a better world Futurama would at least last until October, but i must admit im and NFL fan. And FOX is usually the network that airs my Buccaneers games (FL resident). But i think there are still ways to air the show if they actually wanted RATINGS!!!

Just because the NFL starts in September, that doesn't mean that F*X will stop showing Futurama reruns.  There may not be a late game in your neighborhood, and F*X has to show something at 7:00 (at least until Oliver Beene takes over the time slot).

Go Giants! But yeah, I'd rather see my Futurama then my Giants (or the less-enthustastic Jets)- and that's saying a lot.

Get rid of one of the Simpsons, or better yet, get rid of KOTH, and put Futurama there!

Sorry, but KotH is staying around until at least 2005.  Yes, really.

And there may still be reruns on the west coast after football begins, but they might just show something else.  They aren't officially scheduled, at least.

Yeah, but it looks like in the eastern timezone, Futurama is done for after August 31.  In my area last summer, there was no Futurama shown at all in September (and October).

I think once football rolls around, FOX will probably choose to re-air Simpsons episodes such as "Large Marge" and "Barting Over" for the 4th time this year on the west coast.

Well... a little set back. It seems that on the 31st the 7:00 time slot has been filled by the saturday morning "FOX Box" preview or something like that. It blows but were still getting more than we expected from FOX so we still should be thankful, i suppose. IF this schedule sticks, "The Why Of Fry" will be the final episode aired on the network.

I just hope that Groening (hallelujah) moves his show to a better network.

There is a slim chance, Dibujante, that Matt would move it. But a movie is more likley. Cohen was talking about a movie in nterviews, we'll see.

Welcome to PEEL. BTW, the avatar you have used to be mine  :).

That update is strictly for the West Coast because NFL: Falcons vs. Cowboys is scheduled on the East.

Now that there are no more episodes of Futurama being made, I don't care if they air the ones I don't know yet, cause I'll buy season 4 on DVD for sure. Also, the German version sooo sucks!

Fox has unveiled their entire schedule for October.  It seems to be mostly baseball.  There are a few Sundays when they will probably show time-filling programming on the west coast, but I think by now it's more likely that they'll show reruns of The Simpsons or King of the Hill to get people in the mood for the new episodes coming in November.  They might decide to show Futurama, but remember it's only on the west coast; there will be no more officially scheduled reruns.

You know what'd make the NFL more fun?  Time skips!  One moment Brett Favre is about to throw the ball, the next Green Bay are 30 points down!
