Don't click the link below if you're one of those people dead set on not ruining anything.  I just thought I'd open up a thread to discuss something I saw in the intro to The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings. (I know it hasn't aired, please respect the rules and don't review or discuss the episode, stick to the prospect and possible meaning of the picture)

What do you all think?  Is it a goodbye, a hint, or the creators just flipping Fox the bird?

I think it depends when they thought of it - if it was recently added to the ep rather than thought up a ways ahead of time, it's probably just an allusion to their current run on CN and TBS. And perhaps a "Keep hoping" as far as CN maybe ordering new episodes in the future.

Which is probably what happened.

I think its pretty classy of them. If it was me writing the intro i would have went strait after those FOX bastards.

That's pretty neat, and I doubt it's hinting at possibe new eps. It's probably just saying that after Fox has killed it, it will continue to live on, on other channels  :)

It makes sense if you think about it. After the final ep. airs, I don't think we'll ever see it again on Fox. It's saying "See you in the reruns," because those are on other channels.

Or some other medium. (CoughDVDs)

There was a sizeable article in the Toronto Star TV Times about Futurama and how badly it was treated and how good it is and how the final episode air date was probably an elaborate plot to sell DVD's since the release date is so close after the last episode. It also had a big Leela picture, and called her the Ass-Kicking babe of Futurama.

Yeah, I like how they basically said "We'll put this show on any channel except Fox".

I would like to take this time to say that that is the greatest thing I ever saw.

God bless you, Futurama.

I guess it's better than "As Cancelled By FOX", but it's essentially sending the same message; FOX aren't sending new Futurama episodes, look for us in syndication. Nice work, Matt and Co.
