Just wondering if anyone has noticed any edits/censors in the TBS episodes? I haven't noticed any, but I don't know Futurama as well as I know The Simpsons, for example, and they edit the living daylights out of that show! My season 3 tapes were borrowed and never returned by a friend, and I wish to replenish my collection...but I don't want edited episodes. Can anyone help?

Ive heard of editing in the UK. But to the best of my knowlege, the US re-runs are not edited at all.

didn't they mention once that the episodes in syndication get cut a little for time because they run more commericals then? or am i making that up?

Who decides what parts to cut out for syndication? The crew, I hope.

The TBS airings aren't a syndication deal - it's a network. As far as I know, the episodes certainly seem uncut (they're evidently leaving "Family Guy" uncut, too - where else will you hear the word "penis" at 2:30 PM on TV?). So, my guess - no cuts or compressions unless the show is ever distributed to local FOX or other network affiliates.

can you explain how TBS being a network means it can't be syndication?

Here's something funny, I had to hear that word at 11:30 am!

The proof of the pudding will be the "Zombie Jesus" lines, but I missed both of those episodes when they aired on TBS.  Did they censor them?

I saw "When Aliens Attack" on TBS, and they did not censor when the Professor said "...during the second coming of Jesus".
I thought they would censor that.  I'm glad they didn't.

Well, I'm watching "The Deep South" right now, and the "Sweet Zombie Jesus" line was cut.  They edited out the whole line rather smoothly, they didn't just kill the sound on the word "Jesus" like CN did.  There's one edit, at least.  There's another Zombie Jesus line in an upcoming episode that CN cut.  Presumably, that's gone, too.

I think they edited Brannigan Began Again.  I could have sworn there was a line there where Leela referes to Fry and Bender as "Wingus and Dingus" and Zapp, in all sincerity, does the same; but it wasn't there when the episode aired.  But perhaps it's from a different episode (now I think there's a chance it could have been Amazon Women on the Moon).  Could someone tell me?

Also, my all-time worst syndication edit: On the Simpsons episode where Apu moves in, they cut out Homer's "Hey, he's not happy at all!  He lied to us through song!  I hate when people do that!"  There's no excuse for removing that line.

When a word is cut, how many of you voice it yourself?  I think of it as doing my little bit for Futurama.
