I do! It's not the best episode ever, but it's pretty funny and I love the downgraded bender.

Also, I didn't mind the ending. It's not as tricky or as impacting as The Sting, but it's clever to think that robot's could be upgraded or programmed through experience. It's insightful in fact, because humans may also be merely machines of some sort.

If it's all in the programming, "how can I be sure anything is real? Is it not possible, nay, probable, that my whole life is just a product of my or someone else's imagination?"

The episode was okay for me...not one of greatest, but certainly a plot worth telling.

What really struck me as odd was how little "memorable" that episode was for me.
Upon first viewing, you could ask me weeks, heck, even month later about an specific episode. I would have been able to give a rather detailed plot description . I could do so with every episode, just "Obsoletely Fabulous" was the only episode that was just remembered by me after first viewing as "Well..something with outdated robots on an island....whatver".
I did not even consider that episode bad...it was just in a strange way really "unmemorable".

I found this one to be solid, wooden Bender was hilarious, and the irony of him trying to shut down technology is hysterical. My favorite part would be when Bender makes a boat out of a sign that says: "NO BOATING".

This episode has grown on me with repeat viewings. It's still not my favorite or anything, but I agree with wowbagger--it's funny and the story is clever. I find it consistently entertaining, and it doesn't make any missteps plot-wise, and the similarity to the it-was-all-a-dream ending of "The Sting"  has never really bothered me.

I think the nice thing about season four (in addition to its being undeniably awesome) is that the Bender episodes don't feature the usual callous, ne'er-do-well, irredeemable-jackass story lines I tend to expect from his character. I think he's downright lovable (and cutely pathetic) in "Crimes of the Hot" and "Bend Her" and "Obsoletely Fabulous"; even episodes like "Love and Rocket" and "Jurassic Bark" and "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings", where Bender does something cruel (dumping a rocket ship, dunking a dead dog in lava, deafening a coworker), involve a degree of guilt and regret on his part. And, I don't know, such humanity on his part is nice to see.

Yep, I can certainly agree that the "low-key, often unintentional and accidently cruel" Bender works often better than the "over the top psychopath" Bender. About the same way  as  I prefer the "naive, but not stupid" Fry to the "complete moron" version.

It was a good episode. Had good gags, great story, but just couldn't find the right execution, which is a shame, because this episode could have been greater than it already is. But it was still pretty darn good.

One of the most underrated episodes.  It grows on me everytime I watch it, it's not quite as big as some others but it's still really good. 9/10
