Do you think that as the last episode ends, the creators will put up some captions explaining what happens to everyone, ala Animal House.

Maybe something like: Afterwards Fry and Leela eventually etc., or Professor Farnsworth defeated Wernstrom on the Galactic Gladiators show, or, Zoidberg good naturedly put up with Hermes jabs for another year.  Then, a year after that, he snapped and went on one of the most horrific crime sprees of the 31st century, what became known later as The New New York Chainsaw massacre

(Sorry, I just picked up TXCM on dvd today, and when I watched it, this image of Zoidberg acting like Leatherface at the movies end popped into my head)   ;)

If so, FOX will most likely cut them off  ;)

At least Cartoon Network, and TBS here in america have ben letting the end credits run without any cut-offs or scrunching or annoying voice-overs, so far.  I'm just wondering how long that will last.  Hopefuly they'll keep doing it as they  show the episodes on adult swim.

CN is owned by Ted Turner, and they are showing Futurama and Family Guy on TNT, so the future looks to have a ray of sunshine.  Turner networks even said they were pleased with the sucsess of the re-runs of both shows, so maybe Turner networks will give the show some more leway with credits and endings.

It's funny that Cartoon Network put Futurama and Family Guy on at 10/11 at night and put "Not for Children" disclaimers on before the whole Adult Swim block, yet WTBS shows both programs right in the middle of the afternoon while Mom's napping and the board kiddies are switching channels...

To get back on topic - no.  They weren't sure that they were being cancelled until all but the final touches for the show were already done, and even now they have hopes of a continuation of Futurama in some form.

If you want an Animal House type ending, there's always "Mars University".

I really hope they do, that sounds so cool.

They won't.
The staff wasn't sure that "Devil's Hands" would be the last episode; they only thought it might be the last episode.
