Seriously, I nearly wet myself. I laughed for about twenty minutes, and am laughing again now I think of it.

Bender reaching down to pick up one arm, in order to attach the other in "Space Pilot 3000", or maybe the Escher gag in "Roomate" when they're appartment shopping. "I really don't wanna pay for a dimension we're not gonna use."

yeah man. Roomate is an alltogether great EP and visually stunning. on the DVD audio commentary, I think it was David Cohen who said that the appartment they eventually move into, actually was based on his old place. geeky info =)

I just had to comment on this: In "Roswell that ends Well" when Leela and the Professor dress in 50's clothes, doesn't the Prof look like a total pimp??

"it'd be like me dating a really fat chick, and living inside her and she'd be all ::makes rocket noises and hand movements::

It's the hand movements that are hilarious. That line wouldn't be funny without them.

I think the best sight in Futurama has to be The Professor as a frog in 'Wizzin' in 'Anthology of Interest 2'. Or maybe the 'ears', 'ear plugs' in 'Godfellas'.

The Esher gag in I, Roommate always makes me laugh.

Also, the newpaper headline "Balls Throughly Licked"  as mentioned by Roboturchin from War is the H-Word.

From A Big Piece of Garbage: "Ok, we have 25 minutes, 15 minutes, 5 minutes, 6h minutes?!" It always makes me laugh hard, everytime, it's funny without Leela saying anything, but the way she says it makes it even better. Also, Fry missing the button to launch the rocket the first time.

In "Hell is other robots" when Fry starts giving a serious talk to Bender about mistreating your friends, then the camera turns to Fry and he still has electrified hair from thier trip into the electric field. That really cracked me up.

Also in the last episode "Devils hands..." when the Robot Devil escapes from the opera.

The awesome and eerie backlight lighting in TMLH when the Proffesor is telling Leela that if she  doesn't get the age reduction reversed, the only way to return to her normal age is to grow back - (close up with eerie green backlight) "Just as God intended."  :laff:

Also, the camera angles whenever the Proffesors is doing or saying something melodramatic are wonderful.

Fry framed heroicaly in the doorway in his underwear in AHITP.

In AWITM, one the the skeletons with the crushed pelvis' is leaning back with one arm behind his head and the other holding a cigarette.  :laff:  :laff:

Don't know that this is technically a visual gag, but I'll assume it is...

In Put Your Head On My Shoulders, when Victor has to push his eyebrow back down when Amy mentions how rich her parents are.

My favorite visual gag is for surd when Zapp, Kif,  Bender, and Fry were moodswinging between frowns and smiles in reaction to their new sexual fate! The buildup to that moment was so funny, that the moment itself felt even funnier. One of the greatest scenes on the show...EVER

Interestingly, one of my favourite visual gags is from one of the worst episodes. The scene in "A Leela of Her Own" where the audience stares in shock, and Bender reaches down and pilfers a drink from the guy in front of him. Then Amy gives Bender this "Hey, good idea!" look and does the same thing.  :laff:

That's probably not the best one, but the first one that came to mind.

Oh yeah, and Reincarnation is full of visual gags. The anime segment in particular, has so many funny little things to see. Stuff like the same building being destroyed twice, Central park having Japanese architecture, etc. It's probably the most jam-packed episode for visual gags in the series. The fact that it's also so visually appealing makes it all the better!

I agree. That's such a great scene. I especially like how while Zapp and Fry toggle between smiles and frowns, Kif just has one long frown.  :laff:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the PE building lifts up it's "hat" in the Colorama segment of Reincarnation, is there a poster or something inside of it? Couldn't tell because of the crappy stream quality...

I do believe that says either 6⅛ or 6⅞, which, not that I know much about clothing, I would assume is referential to a hat size.

Good eye, though. I never noticed that before.

Reincarnation was indeed chalk full of visual gags. This makes sense because the concept of the episode is practically a visual gag itself - they make an entire episode out of lampooning three different visual styles. I also love how the crux of each act is not viewable in its own visual style (the new color in black and white, the most detailed spec in 8-bits, and Zoidberg's incredible dance in motionless anime). They pull it off oh-so-well.

I like that part too (though I doubt God intends for us to live our childhoods twice) and I'll have to re-watch AWITM, I never noticed that.

I always saw that through the filter of her wanting to grow up with her parents.  Maybe I'm reading too much into it?

I also feel like it's underrated. The only thing that I think is wrong with it is it's end scenes before the breaks. They weren't that funny, but besides that the episode was fantastic.

I guess I agree with the general consensus that Bender is a little too much of a jerk; even moreso than usual. I don't really care very much though. I can forgive the writers if they feel the need to exaggerate a character's personality traits for the purpose of the plot.

What I don't like is when they make the characters do things that are completely off; things that completely contradict the character. (ei: Neutopia)
