Toes

Does anyone know how many toes the futurama characters have? on a wallpaper i have they have 3 really pointy toes but it is not official so i am not sure if it is accurate.

They have as many toes as they have fingers ... 4.

They have four toes on each foot as I recall.  Have a look at When Aliens Attack (1ACV12). They're on the beach there and I'm pretty sure they don't have any shoes on.

In fact I'm certain, cos in AOI1 (2ACV16), Leela takes off her boots and wiggles her toes on the table ("Eww, what smells like boot feet?" so you see it there.

It's an animation tradition, it's just plain easier to draw 3 fingers and one thumb. Plus it looks weirder to have the full five fingers.

Anyway, try drawing both and seeing which looks better. I think you'll agree.

Wasn't there an issue that Leela had 5 toes in Where No Fan Has Gone Before?

Thanks guys, I was just curious.  Actually, when I draw (which I do a lot when I'm bored), five fingers comes naturally, so it's easier to draw five.

I think it would just make sense to have 4 toes if they have 4 fingers, Hil. I can't draw 5 fingers, but then I can't draw period, which is where that argument falls down!

Yeah, I always thought four fingers matches four toes.  I mean, four fingers is weird, but four fingers and three toes?    Weirder.

That's true! What other aliens on the show have odd numbers of fingers and toes.  Morbo has three I think.
