Does anyone know why they stopped putting scenes before the opening theme? We used to have some good funny scenes, but after the first few episodes of Season 2 they stopped doing them, except for the occasional 'Futurama is brought to you by'

On one of the audio commentaries they said they felt they needed to get to some action to wake people up and they felt that the theme music could do that.

Tech term: "Cold opening".

What davids said, plus they had a lot more story to fit in in later episodes.

I'm still disappointed that they didn't have the Professor walk away with a giant feather in his hat in the cold opening for The Series Has Landed.

I'm still gutted that they dropped the whole "Well i am already in my pyjamas".

Everyone in the world would be quoting that one.
