Greoning put all the pieces together, its alot of work to not only create a show, but the company that produces the show as well.  As the executive producer, he has to know the production side as well as the buisness side.  He actually has to get the sh*t d*cks at FOX to air the episodes.  You cant pin Futurama on just one person, both Cohen and Greoning are two uber talented guys and the show works so well becuase the two of them work together well also.

Fox are like the big bullies in a school you don't want to make them angry or you'll be in big trouble, you have to make sure you're kept on their good side.

Actually I think FOX is more like the kid who owns the ball. Remember when you were a kid, and wanted to play football? One kid always brought the ball and in most cases he was obnoxious and demanding because of it. If you didn't please him, he would say: "fine, if you don't want to play by my rules, I'm taking my ball and going home!"

Well, that's more attacking my choice of words, than my point. I might as well have written, "Matt has always been open about the fact he has other people to do the animation and writing process." That doesn't mean he don't have a hnad in the process, he supervises the entire process, and can at any point say no to things (like the internet scene in "A Bicyclops Built For Two" )

Unless Cohen (or Groening) is credited as writer of a particular episode, neither of this is their doing. It's done by the voiceactors and the writer. Granted, the writing proces on Futurama is very much a group affort, but still the main writer make the bulk of the episode.

Groening and Cohen is more of a team in Futurama, and of equal importance to Futurama. Matt came up with the idea, and they both fleshed out the universe afterwards.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. What's with all the Greoning bashing?
Firstly it's hardly suprising that Greoning doesn't singlehandedly create every aspect of the show. Futurama and The Simpsons are a group effort. What did some of you think Matt does, sit in a room day after day writing scripts and drawing cells non stop!?
Futurama is very much Matt Greonings vision everything about is so, well Matt Greoning. I also appreciate David Cohens incredible contribution to the show, but without Matt we wouldn't have Futurama.
Matt Greoning may not be responsible for every single thing in the finished episodes, but as he oversees and aproves everything (oh yeah he also created the characters and concepts!) it is fair to say that he has had the largest impact of any individual involved in Futurama.

Dont really know what you dont understand about this but i am saying that i think Cohen is better that Matt Groening i havent once said that Matt should do everything so please stop posting that, as you may guess im asking who you think puts more useful imput into the show, even though they're a team i still think Cohen is better and my main point is he gets overlooked...

David X Cohen, he helped develop the idea with Matt and is also one of the best reasons to listen to the audio commentries, so of the lines he comes up with "Take that Physisists, A blow to your precious Logic!"

We can have a leisurely day at the white house and play spin the bottle with the secret service, too...anyway, I would like to get back to the reason that this topic was started.  Whilst many campaign who is better, without them we'd have no futurama.  If Coen is good, then Groening must also be for deciding to take him on as executive producer.  Well....that's how I see it.  :)
