The last review/discussion thread for this month. Tips/rules: - go away if you don't want to be spoiled!
- special topics like weird scenes/plot
- problems go to special threads in the according boards.
- no posting before it's 19:00 ET (e.g. when it started)
- no opening any competing threads to get around the closedness of this one.
Thread will hopefully be opened by some moderator (but me) once the episode is about to start.

It was funny but lacked in most other areas. Im aware of the "shipper" content but Im not a big Amy/Kif fan so it didnt seem as good a ep as the last 2.

Good ep this week. Nothing particularly earth shattering or story arc related, but a nice simple, funny story. However, Billy West's voices seemed a bit off this week, at least Zapp and Zoidberg. There just wasn't much conviction in their deliveries. And Hermes' side-plot was kind of dumb. I think we all know what he'd be buying with that $300: "oregano"! Also, where the hell did Fry go at the end? He achieves caffeine nirvana, saves everyone, and then disappears! Maybe this is leading up to something?

I was REALLY disappointed with this ep. It seemed totally thrown together, the plot was almost non-existant, the jokes seemed forced and the characters just weren't themselves. A few of the zoidburg moments had me smiling, but overall I rate it 0.5/5

I thought it was a fun episode, and a good break from all the serious, moody, deep episodes surrounding it. While this doesn't make the list of my favorite episodes, now was a very good time to air it. Light-hearted, many good jokes, and decent continuity. Plus, I loved Fry's coffee plotline. It relates to me all too well.

It's my guess that this episode was written by a different writer than "Farnsworth Parabox" (Sorry, I don't keep track of writers!) and the two were probably written at about the same time. yeah, that's probably it.... i guess it also could be out of order. does anyone know the original production order of season 5?

Fry hitting 100 was good. That whole scene reminded me of something - I can't think of what it was a reference to, especially the hummingbird part. I KNOW I've seen that before - Spiderman, perhaps? Bah.
Anyway, other than that, straight middle-of-the-road episode. Better than Futurestocks, worse than . . . I dunno. But suffice it to say, not the best, not the worst. Certainly the weakest of the three "new" episodes.

Cool episode. The scene with time slowing down and the hummingbird was from Star Trek: Insurrection I believe.

I really enjoyed this episode, it's not as 'historical' and serious as the last ones but it's kinda funny and very good.

Hmm...you know, I've liked every episode previously....even "A Pharaoh to Remember", which I thought was the weakest episode until now, but was still enjoyable despite its flaws. But this....I really hate to, but I'm going to have to truly pan an episode for the first time.
First off, the plot really was just aimless. I was asking aloud in the second act "where are they going with this?". I guess we know now, but they didn't make it clear enough like with "22 Short Films", and the concept of showing a bunch of short stories just wasn't done as well or with as good a form as "22 Short Films" or probably some similar episodes from other shows. My feeling is that they should've done something politically satirical with the tax cut idea, but instead they decided to show each character doing "ker-azy" stuff. As Leela pointed out, each story was only mildly interesting.
The humor was pretty bad as well. There were moments of brilliance (Hermes first putting on the boots, Bender throwing away the diamond, anything with Fry's coffee (THANK YOU Billy West), etc), but overall it just wasn't very funny. Too many gags flopped and in many cases just didn't make sense. Roseanne? what? Why is the Professor suddenly going for some teenager? I don't really remember too many other flop gags (like with a bad Simpsons, its hard to even remember the jokes after the episode is done), but there were a lot, or at least a lot that didn't work.
Again, it pains me, but this is the first true flop in the series for me. C-/D+, and that's honestly probably a little generous.

I agree totally with you DoTheBartman... i'm a fan of some of the lesser rated episodes like Pharoah and Route Of All Evil, but in my opinion, this was the worst Futurama episode yet.
I think the thing that annoyed me most was how out-of-character everyone seemed to be. What WAS with Mum at the end?
