As in ask? ITs a street talk thing. Futurama creators incorperated it and others to Strengthen its base in the reality of today. See the first christmas special to understand it properly.

[leela]You must be using and old arachic pronunciation. Like when you say ask instead of Ax[/l]

Get it, street talk is the Standard dialect of the day.

There was an amusing link posted somewhere in link of the fryish. IT was a Streettalk translator for use by Christian outreach workers.
Funny as hell.

They've broken the ask/ax rule my often than not. I think it's only 3 or 4 times they actually say ax.

Bender just said ask the other night.  Since I have a hint of a brooklyn accent, I say ax instead of ask as well!  Also I say three as free, and others that I forget.  Is anyone here from Pennsylvannia?  I hate their accents!

I don't actually remember them sayign it through the show, the only time I can think of is in "Roswell That Ends Well"  and that's because Leela is attempting to sound like Fry.

Bender says it too, in one of the AOIs, I believe.

Teral's right, the rule has been broken several times. You can pretend they do it for Fry's benefit, if you like.  ;)
