It looks like the savages that run FOX will tease us once more with a "new" episode of Futurama.  Let's see if they actually show it this time.  They teased me once before and I am still angry about that.  It's one thing to entice people to watch a bad show by showing a good show before it, but it's different when they just say they're going to show the good show before the bad one and wind up just showing two episodes of the bad show.  I'll do this to FOX if they don't ->   :puke: ..and then this->   :finger:  -- (yeah, I just learned how to use those extra thingies)

I'm not too familar with the episodes as they appear in seasons.  Is Cartoon Network still showing Season 1 or have they moved into Season 2 without me noticing?

They aired last week's episode, and believe me, they're airing this one. The local affiliates have already received the satellite feed, and said feed was intercepted by Internet pirates. They don't hace much of a choice now.

Yea since some people have already seen the ep Id say someone had to have intercepted it as it was being sent. Sometimes you hate those nerds at the NSA who abuse there power, but for doing things like this you gotta love em at times.

Bender: Hey, there's no law against graverobbing piracy.
Seriously tho, nothing wrong with a little piracy to balance out the scales. They steal from us, we steal from them. It's how capitalism works. Really, if anyone desrves to be stolen from, it's FOX. (Besides, we'll still all watch it when it airs on TV.)

You know, I'm going to flamed for this...but Fox did accept Futurama and financed it in the first place...if it wasn't for Fox there wouldn't be a Futurama.

Excepting abuse soon  :)

They didn't really accept Futurama, because if they would have, they would have never cancelled it.

Well, they accepted it, then immediately decided they didn't like it.

And Cartoon Network is actually more than halfway through season 3.  They're nearly done with the episdoes they have.

And then they decided that since they didn't like it, no-one else should like it either and proceeded to destroy all evidence of its existence, such as their TV schedules, DVD release dates and all its fan sites.

They're into Season 3 already?  What happened to Season 2?  Okay, I don't know which episodes are in which seasons, but I keep seeing episodes I saw before on CN.

ohh.... I'm so lost.. at least the new Futurama is on...

Yes. I believe Matt said, "I've got an idea that's just like The Simpsons!" FOX said, "We'll take it!" FOX got Futurama and said, "This is nothing like The Simpsons." Matt said, "It's new and original; it's never been done before, and that's just like The Simpsons."

I think that's from some commentary, S1, I think. "I, Roommate" I think.

CN is going through for the third time I think.

According to the commentary, I, Roommate was done to please the FOX execs, and what was the result in their opinion:
Worst. Episode. Ever.

please tell me how much NOT promoting the show at all cost FOX?

also, they really went out on a limb to develop what is essentially (to them) a spin off of their most popular and profitable show EVER

If I was running the network and a show was getting bad ratings I would cancel it. they have to make money you know.

Gee, I dunno. If I was running a network and I had already poured money into a show, I'd try giving it some actual promotion before cancelling it and rendering it a complete waste of money.

Some half-wits at Fox did some "analysis" and determined that the show would not make sufficient money for them to overcome their hatred of the fact that Mat had creative control over the show - the Fox execs couldn't screw with it, so they were frustrated.

Ratings are irrelevant at this point.  They pulled the plug, the patient flatlined, and they called the meat wagon.
