When watching Robot Wars, I can't help but think that if the show is still on in the early 31st century then it will be Ultimate Robot Fighting.

I was at work the other day, and they always have some music playing over the speakers for the customers. And the song Funky Town came on. It made me laugh to myself as I thought back to the way Morbo sang it in Amazon Women in the Mood for the karaoke  :laff:

Yellowcard's (seems like a promising band  ) drummer's hair looks identical to Dwight's, and he wears a green shirt pretty simular to Dwight's. I always think Dwight when I see him (which is much, unfortunatly)

Sideshow Mel's face and head always remind me of Fry's face and head shape.

Reposted here at Nixxy's prompting:

I was listening through the new Five Iron Frenzy (FIF) album, "The End Is Near," and lo and behold! In the album's hidden track, a couple band members goof around and sing part of the "Hey you, look at my head!" thing Bender sang in The Series Has Landed:

This merely reaffirms my position that Five Iron may be one of the coolest bands ever.

That has got to be the best spelling list. Ever  :laff:

That's awesome, truly awesome. Probabaly the only Futurama reference on a band's album ever. Too bad it's their last.  :(

Rover, did you tell them why you were laughing?  :D

Haha! You are envious to me! I now own you. Anyways, no. I didn't tell them. My teacher is opposed to T.V. for some reason and any time someone brings a television related topic up in class she yells her head off and gives them a detention.
On topic:
I don't know if this was mentioned before but I was watching the end of The Ring, and credits say it's a Bender and Sprink production. hehe.

Hey, Alexvilagosh!

When you were talking about the poem about the king's works being reduced to rubble, did you mean "Ozymandias"?

It's an interesting poem. No, really...  :p

One of the teachers in my school, my Chemistry one just reminds me off the Professor due to him being the oldest teacher in the school and a tad eccentric. He also blew up a test tube once when doing an experiment in one of those safety cabinet thingies.

Hey 1 of the gang, not to be nitpicky, but in your sig, I believe Hermes actually says "Tally me banana," tally being a reference to his being a rastafarian accountant.

And I believe Adela is spelled Adelay.

No 1 of the gang, that's not what I meant. I already know about that tally me banana song. And I don't really care about the spelling.

What I mean is that Hermes saying "tally me banana" is a (really clever) joke referring to his job as the accountant, as well as the jamaican reference(from the song). You know, how accountants "tally" accounts and what not? So, he's a jamaican accountant, tally me banana! get it? They didn't make Hermes say a random line from a (somewhat jamaican, maybe cuban?) song for no reason other than to alude to the fact that he's jamaican, that's not funny and pointless. I'm sure they purposely meant that play on the word "tally."

Anyway, I just wanted to let you in on that joke, in case you didn't catch it. "It saddens me to think of you...missing out."-(know what ep that's from?)

the song "why cant you and i"
reminds me of futurama (leela and fry.song mainly from fry to leela  :) ), lyrics:

Since the moment I spotted you
Like walking around with little wings on my shoes
My stomach's filled with the butterflies...and it's alright
Bouncing round from cloud to cloud
I got the feeling like I'm never going to come down
If I said I didn't like it then you know I'd lied

Pre-Chorus
Everytime I try to talk to you
I get tongue-tied
Turns out everything I say to you
Comes out wrong and never comes out right

Chorus
So I'll say 'why don't you and I get together
and take on the world and be together forever
Heads we will and tails we'll try again
So I say why don't you and I get together and
fly to the moon and straight on to heaven
Cause without you they're never going to let me in

When's this fever going to break?
I think I've handled more than any man can take
I'm like a love-sick puppy chasing you around
And it's alright
Bouncing round from cloud to cloud
I got the feeling like I'm never going to come down
If I said I didn't like it then you know I'd lied

Pre Chorus - repeat

Chorus - repeat

Bridge
Slowly I begin to realize this is never going to end
Right about the same time you walk by
And I say 'Oh here we go again'

Pre-Chorus - repeat

Chorus - Repeat

In the Mario Kart review in the latest issue of NGC, they inexplicably start talking about George Bush declaring Santa Claus to be a dangerous psychopath and hunting him down. A policy 1000 years ahead of its time.

At the prompting of Ubermod Nixorbo, I transfer to this thread the post I made somewhere else ...  :)

Hallo all! Look what I found in the website of the "New Scientist"... An article about a company that can implant a chip under your skin in order to hold data like your credit card number, health info, etc. The system can automatically communicate with an appropriate reception device present in the area where the subject is. According to the article, a variant of this chip was also implanted in July 2003 in 30 Mexican patients in order to make it easier to access their medical histories and treatment schedules.
Of course, I imagine that the original concept for "career chips" in Futurama must have come from the chips that are implanted in pets, but this is the first time in the "real world" that those chips are proposed for implantation in humans.

The relevant link is here.

I knew about that article with the implant chips already. It's catching on more in Mexico because Americans are still worried about privacy and security.

Nowadays, I don't watch the Three Stooges much, but if I catch a short, Curly would remind me of Futurama (Zoidberg got his "whoop-woop-woop-woop" from Curly). And Mom's three sons are basically like the Three Stooges.
