I was reading people's posts in this thread worrying that the show and the characters may not be recognizable enough. Well, what if they made some short T.V. spots featuring the main characters of the show, sort of like the ad campaign for Star Wars II, to get people familiar with the characters?

i think a creative way of tying up some suttle plots in the series and somehow tying them into making a movie would be a great theme. i cant think of any right now cus its too early for me but you get the idea.

Much agreed JP. And Space Pilot 3000 did have a good plot, but would you really want them dragging on one less than 30 minutes episode into 90 minutes? I would like an original idea from the original creative staff than have a fanfic become a movie or one of the episodes become a movie. Now, if they strung SP3000, TLotF, TDtESS, RWTEW, JB, and TWoF into one movie, it would have one story that went through the whole series in one movie. And they could improve graphics, color, and the story in the movie to accomidate to it. But I'd rather see a new idea rather than an old one, though I'd still go out and see a Futurama movie anyway.

Welcome to PEEL ecks. Enjoy your stay at nerd-world.
The problem with your idea is with the rights to property. Futurama isn't our property. If we were to mass market it, we'd be in trouble, but, if we made it as a more "fan movie" and ran it through the internet, there'd be less chance of getting caught for using somebody else's property. I'm not getting your hopes down. (If something's hopeless, you just gotta hope even more, and put your hands over your ears and go "La la la la la!" -- Philip J. Fry)

And I bet everybody would eventually do what I do when I get a good idea ... full steam ahead for about 5 minutes, then get bored and stick the DVDs on. Leave it to the experts, I say. Make a brew instead.
Half of me wants another series, half of me wants Futurama to remain timeless. Then again, I'm getting fed up re-cycling my box sets, so I DEMAND A SERIES V!!!

A movie would be a good idea, I reakon! Futurama is actually more known then we think (I'm always surprised by how many people have heard/watched/loved it) so I don't think it'd be unpopular. As for a Simpsons movie, it would be big, but Futurama could do a lot more, you know what I mean?? And you put out a Futurama movie you'll get more fans who go buy the dvds ect. and you just never know, we might get a whole new season, or even another movie! Sure, there are so many things to be workied out, but Fox can't lose much giving a Futurama movie a go. As long as it isn't live action and stays true to the original series, it'll be pretty popular. Hell, even if they released it on dvd first, than made a second one...I just want my movie!!!

I don't know if someone has come up with this idea before. But, here it is. The brainspawn, stuck in the alternate universe in the Infosphere, use the Infosphere's knowledge to build another Quantumn Interphase Bomb that would return them to the normal universe. They then try to destory the universe as you would expect. Also, they could be in league with the Robot Devil for some reason. DOOP is called in to try and destroy the infosphere (along with all available ships) as Fry, Leela and Bender foil the brains plan some other way. Because the main crew are off somewhere else, they cannot be flying the Planet Express ship in the fight against the Infosphere, so Zoidberg has to pilot the ship (They'd have to have some reason why Hermes couldn't fly it as we saw him do in The Farnsworth Parabox). The battle against the Infosphere is ripe for a Star Wars paroday what with the Death Star and all.
Well, like I said, someone's probably had this idea before. Still, I reckon it's pretty cool. Maybe.

Jennifer Garner as Leela - don't look at it too closely, I'm a hopeless amateur at Photoshop.

Yay or nay? Ah... Yea or nay to which? Live action Futurama? [EXPLETIVES DELETED] No! Nothin' doin'. Forget it! Bad Idea! [dials thermostat down 1000 Kelvin] *Ahem* Quality of your 'shopped' photo? It's quite good. It's still obviously 'shopped', but it gets your point across quite well.

It seems most of the ideas you guys are making involve the revenge or attack of some species on earth, but I hope it is much more than that.
I dont want it to be less sci-fi, but invasions have been hell explored before...
A plot that explored the secrets would be much more entertaining than battles methinks
