Well, let's enjoy it while it lasts.

June 1st, 7 PM -
The Sting (4ACV12)
Leela leads the Planet Express crew on a mission to gather honey from killer space bees.

it'll be nice to still have Futurama on Sundays, seeing as how Cartoon Network is dropping the Sunday slot a week from this Sunday.

*taking bets as to if it'll be pre-empted for "World's Drunkest Old People"*

After a month and a half of waiting, it'll be nice to see a fresh episode. May it kick serious ass.

I'm really looking forward to this particular episode. If FOX pre-empts it, I will not be responsible for my actions.

Dame Cartoon Network too. We don't even have Futurama on Fox in the UK.  :finger:

That's because there is no Fox Network in the UK - Futurama is shown on Sky, and C4. In fact, Sky are going to show Futurama on almost every day during the half term, possibly leading up to The Sting on June 1st.

We're 5-8 hours ahead of the US. Would Sky be allowed to show it first?

I wonder if once the feed has been sent out to the affiliates, it is classified as "broadcast"? Since this happens 24 hours before air, it would very closely mean FOX had aired the episode before Sky  ;).

However, as Otis said, it's not wise to get your hopes up when dealing with the network named after a creature who makes off with chickens in the night  ;).

No need to curse the only American channel who treat Futurama with the respect it deserves. Cartoon Network does a great job. Just that American and European CN isn't as closely connected as one could hope.

Isn't this like the fourth time "The Sting" has been anounced as the new episode coming Really Soontm?

But if it does air, I hope it kicks so much ass, Gail Berman will have to eat standing up the next 4 months!

Actually, Fox didn't say it would keep Futurama in the same time slot.  I don't think Fox has a regular schedule yet for Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays, and there are at least four other currently unscheduled shows besides Futurama that they plan to air over the summer.

I don't think they'd move The Simpsons even in the summer, so imagine seeing Futurama again in the 8:30 slot.  Of course, they probably won't bother to move Futurama from its old slot, and if so, it'll be pre-empted a couple times (June 29 and July 6) for movies (though that would happen even if it was on at 8:30).

I'm totally behind CN in dropping the Sunday timeslot, with 74 episodes and 5 being shown a week the show will get overexposed in no time, this will give more time in between repeats so they're fresh again and allow them to show some of the shows that are mysteriously missing from adult swim (What happened to The Oblongs and Space Ghost?)

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Oliver Beene or Banzai got such bad ratings, they started showing Futurama McSeason 5 reruns in its former deathslot?

Cheers Gul Teral, for putting an image of Gail Berman's ass in my head!  :puke:

If "The Sting" airs in the US on June 1st, I'd expect it to air on Sky by June 15th at the latest.  Sky actually seem eager to show new episodes.

Just as good, they'd probably offer to buy the concept, and then make a show from it: "When Aliens Torture Humans"

Well, according to TVGuide.com, Fox will indeed show "The Sting" on June 1 at 7:00.  (They incorrectly identify it as a repeat.)

I agree - there's no way Sky would show it on June 1st (because the UK would still see it first due to the time difference)...although Sky appear to be working up to something. They've currently got S5 shows scheduled nearly everyday during half term, leading up to TWOF on Friday 30th. I guess we'll find out when the schedule is released tomorrow.

Don't hold your breath, but the affiliates are also listing a new episode (*gasp*) for the following week (*gasp*):
 http://www.wvah.com/schedule/

By the title name (which is incorrect, I know), I would say it's The Farnsworth Parabox. Probably have to wait a while to find out more.

If the report in the May issue of Sky magazine was anything to go by, the next three episodes should be "The Sting", "The Farnsworth Parabox" and "Bend Her"

It's "Parabox".  According to TLZ, the episode involves the Professor hiding mysterious contents in a box.
