I want to hear about an official cancellation; a real, full, official cancellation. You know, the kind that means the show was dropped by the network completely and is free to be picked up by another network. Remember that petition we all signed? It's no surprise that FOX ignored it, but if we send one of those to another network asking them to pick up our show, and get over 100,000 signatures like we did before, maybe they'll give it consideration. (Cartoon Network would be a good target, as they already seem to be amiable toward Futurama.) I know that there is practically no chance of bringing Futurama back from the dead, but hey, it's worth a shot.

Sad, but not exactly unexpected news.
Copy and paste from CGEF:
Thanks to: Matt Groening, David X Cohen, Rich Moore, Ken Keeler, Eric Horsted, J Stewart Burns, Patrick Verrone, Christopher Tyng, Bil Odenkirk, Scott Vanzo and the rest of the staff at The Curiosity Company and Rough Draft Studios.
Special thank to Sarge Morton for being the cool guy he is.
Thanks to the talented voice actors: Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Lauren Tom, Phill Lamarr, Maurice LaMarche, Tress Macneille, David Herman, Frank Welker, the guest stars and all those who I forgot.
Thanks for an awesome show, after the end of DS9 I had my doubts about tv as entertainment, you all restored that.
Futurama (1999-2003), rest in peace.

Allen walks up to a gravestone. It reads: HERE LIES FUTURAMA/Cancelled before its time. He looks sadly at the stone for a moment and puts some flowers next to it. He sheds a single tear, then turns and walks off into the sunset.
Goodbye Futurama. I'll never forget you!

And those are just some. #4 and #5 are of particular concern; Futurama is NOT a cheap show (was the quote somewhere in the region of $500, 000 an episode?). It's also not a particularly brilliant time for economies around the world, especially the US. Although CN has definitely made a good deal out of Futurama, they are unlikely to take the risk of ordering new episodes when the one's they've got, paid for at a fraction of the price, are getting the ratings they want.
I hate to sound so pessimistic, but I'm just trying to explain. a Futurama episode costs a little over a million bucks an episode to make. also, it wouldn't be too hard to put the old team back together. the LA Animation Biz is such a small world that you could probably bring back 85% of the crew, since writers and artists are always looking for more work. the ones who wouldn't come back would probably be people who didn't like it and refused, or ones who got fired, or ones who seriously have too much work (not likely). just eliminate all the extraneous rewrites and reanimations that FOX makes their shows do, and you can really bring down the price of the show.

They paid $10million for the rerun rights, if its between 500 000 and 1000000 to make an ep, then theres at least 10 eps they could make if they are willing to outlay that much cash again!
