What do you think will be the fate for Futurama.
Do you think F** will renew it, or cancell it for good?.
Or will F** not mention anything about the show?

I hope/feel they will renew it.
I dont hope, but think they will cancell it for good?

I think they'll probably either not mention it at all, or just officially cancell it    :hmpf:

In order of likelihood (most likely first):

#1. Ignore it
#2. Cancel it
.
.
.
.
.
.
#9,999,999. Renew it

IMHO.

Sadly - I'm sure it's gone to that big anamatic in the sky.  FOX will not mention it. Seriously - if they can't be bothered to mention an Emmy win, why would they waste the breath to mention the show's (unfair) passing.

Cancel it, but retain all rights. Sort of a worst of both worlds.

dont wait for miracles.

make them yourself. somebody needs to find the guy who controls the fate of futurama and kidnapp his wife and kids until he renews it.

EDIT: this of course is joke. nobody should do this. and if you do... you will probably feel the wrath of the law, and in no way can I be held responsible for your actions!

Erm, i think they'll not mention it, just leave it in it's current "Not cancelled, not renewed" status.

I don't think the upfront presentation is where they announce what's renewed and what's cancelled, it's just where they announce the fall schedule.  But if they don't mention a show, we can assume it's cancelled.

There's a chance they'll renew it but it seems unlikely.  Why "burn off" the remaining episodes over the summer if they're going to keep it going?  Of course, if Futurama ends, what will fill that placeholder spot at 7:00 on Sundays?  Maybe they'll officially designate it as the time slot for Simpsons and King of the Hill reruns.

why bother with re-runs? they suck! also, do you really want a re-run of shows that suck anyway? simpsons, may be funnier now, but KOTH? KOTH stopped being funny......since the first episode, on other boards they leave it off kill insted of futurama polls.

KOTH.....now with 42% less comedy that the worst episode of futurama ever.

I personally think FOX will announce Futurama for Fall programming. Since that is when the final episodes will eventually get aired...

So we'll have to wait another year for the final word.

I don't want reruns, but that's what we've been getting.  This year, The Simpsons and King of the Hill have occupied the 7:00 slot more often than Futurama, even though it's officially scheduled for that time.  Fox might as well quit pretending.

They'll never announce a cancellation, because that way they can retain the rights, and screw Matt Groening in three years when The Simpsons will end. Even the most adamant Simpsons fans will say that the show has lost its touch in most of its late-season episodes. Specifically, the one I believe is called "Large Marge" that FOX has shown about thirty times now.

Yeah, they might as well, but if they did, would this fan base, the futurama fan base ever watch any of the fox channe during that time? they hope we are all suckers and will watch whatever is there just because we will be anticipating the next episode of futurama and so will watch that time slot area in the hope that we will see it.

we have TV guide, both the book and from the cable box, they can't fool anyone. not to mention, if it wasn't for futurama and malcom in the middle, i would never watch fox anyway.

I don't watch Malcolm because Six Feet Under is on HBO. They have Oliver Beene on the 8:30 timeslot, riding on the heels of The Simpsons which is the only reason it lasted more than an eighth of an episode. I cannot imagine how it got passed the censors. There is more racism, sexism, and generalized discrimination in that show than in any show I've seen! One of the characters is supposed to act as a homosexual (stereotypical), but he's something like 11 or 12. They've gone over racism more than once, and how his father hated Black people. If "Jesus" is censored by CN, how the hell can all this get by FOX?!? And why does this show get ratings? I've watched it three times - I figured that any show FOX put in the 8:30 timeslot they had to have hopes for. They may have hopes for it - but it sucks.

ill bet a lot of the racist stuff gets by on Oliver Beene because the show takes place in the 1960s, and back then stuff like that was conventional.

indeed it was. sad as it is, it was everywhere. that little 12 year old quere is funny sometimes though, although i would think, it being the sixties he would get a beating more than once in a while.

i have seen only four episodes, and have no idea how it is still on. i say kill this, or the pitts (if they didn't already) and put futurama there, that is if futurama is going to be revived.

also, i think CN only cut out that jesus thing, becaues it was ZombieJesus. something which personally find sac religious and just plain wrong really. but that's just me....

The best case scenario would be that CN gets the production rights, and not just syndication rights to Futurama.  All of the former staff rush back into Matt Groenig's arms because they finally have a network that is not looking to screw them.  And all the happy little bunnies dance around and rainbows are in the sky etc etc.

Whoa, what's all about this fateful day? I haven't hear of it, so someone please link me to a news article. Is Thursday gonna be Judgement Day for Futurama? Well, I don't have hopes for FOX. I mean David's interview mention that the FOXecutives didn't fit in Futurama's target audience so they'll care less about it. Those grumpy old geezers  :p

Speaking of re-runs, why has FOX never even shown a re-run for Futurama? Not even if it's the old stinkin' Space Pilot 3000!

If they cancel the show, they still have money invested in it, they would still own the rights to it.

That is why it cant simply go to another network, the rights are jointly owned by matt groenings production company, "Curiosity Company".

So if another network wants to make it, either another network buys Fox's share, which wont come cheap, if its for sale at all.

Or Curiosity Company buys its share back, which I am sure groening cant afford!

Well, the schedule has unofficially been announced, and, as you might have guessed, Futurama isn't on it.  The 7:00 Sunday time slot has been given to a new show called Bonzai.  (I can find absolutely no information about this show or even another reference to it, unless it originally had a different name.)  Read all about it.

Judgement day is tomorrow, the fate of our laughs is in the network (not saying names), will we stop laughing forever?, will we get back the best show?, will it sink slowly to the bottom??.

stay tuned for more.... Tales of... oops sorry (clears throat) Cancell day!!!!!!

I think I'm right in saying "Bonzai" was on Channel 4 at some point here in the UK?

Channel 4 had/has a Japanese game show called Banzai.  I don't know if it's the same thing.

It does appear that Fastlane has been cancelled too, for those of you who were annoyed that Fox supported it despite its low ratings.

Banzai?! What the hell is Banzai?! The show even sounds stupid!  Just like FOx to cancel an innovative, funny, and well-done show for some crappy show that will be off-air by the second or third season. Between the racist stereotypical Oliver Beene, the old and tired Simpsons, the one-joke That 70's Show, the flavorless King of the Hill, and all the other horrible shows FOX puts on air Futurama is the only truly good show. How could they cancel it over a fight or creative differences (Does FOX have any creatism)? FOX needs to be taken down a notch. Okay, notches.

Hmmm...this might be good. As long as the ones being charged at are the FOX executives!

Well, it seems instead that the only one that got charged at this point was Futurama itself.  Dialogue at the Evil Fox Executive Headquarters probably went something like this:

Evil Fox Exec #1:  Man, I hate Matt Groening, even though he made me rich!  So, I want to take revenge on him for no reason!  So, Evil Fox Exec #2, what do you think we should do with Futurama?

Evil Fox Exec #2:  Lets charge into it and chop it into pieces!  Let's have a Bonzai!

Evil Fox Exec #1:  Hey, won't that make a great TV show!  Banzai!

Evil Fox Exec #2:  Hey great idea!  Let's go cancel Futurama for good and replace it with that crap!  Then everybody will love us.  Yay!

Well anyway, looks like Futurama's fate will ultimately be decided tomorrow.  Let's all stay cautiously optimistic and hope for the best.

They did. Kinda. When the west had the 7:00 timeslot but the east didn't due to football, FOX sometimes (back in the good old days) aired reruns of Futurama.
