No I dont think they will air them this Summer n dont forget there are quite a few left at least as far as I know. Id rather they cancel the show in early May so CN can air the unaird eps n then we would be able to see all the left unaird eps before July rather then having to wait until late Aug n with CN the show would air at a better time.

Yes, I do.  They're just waiting for sweeps to be done with & we should see them in June through August.

Yes – they will show the last 8 in June/July/August.  Summer is the time of year when networks know  overall TV viewing is down with outdoor activities, vacations, etc.  Ratings carry less weight and traditionally it's a dumping ground where networks will show both reruns and reruns of reruns (I will guarantee at least one more showing of “Large Marge” on the Simpsons), passed over (for very clear reasons) prospective series pilots, reality/game shows (although they have taken over prime time as of late) and assorted other  *cheap* programs.

I've read (maybe here) that FOX's plan is to show more new programming this summer against the other network's reruns in an attempt to gain viewers, thus guaranteeing they will see plenty of promos for FOX's fall shows.  Most will be stuff like  "World's Blankiest Blank", "Thousandaire Masked Bachelor With a Secret" and burn offs of episodes from cancelled series that are already paid for anyway.  Anything that is cheap to produce, but new. I know for a fact one series will be an American Idol show with kids.  I can't wait to see a judge tell a 9 year old she is horrible singer who better learn how to flip burgers because she will never amount to anything.

Not only will they show the final 8 Futuramas, we may actually see a little promotion on their part, touting "While the other guys show reruns, FOX has all new episodes of..." programming blocks.

Maybe they are keeping the show in hiatus for TAX reasons  :p I never wanna see it cancelled, this limbo thing is fine, why bother to make it official? It'll only depress us.

If FOX has no interest in ordering new episodes they need to go ahead and cancel it so that (1) Cartoon Network gets access to the "5th Season" episodes, (2) Series 4 DVDs can come out in R2 and R4 this Christmas and R1 next Christmas and (3) it lets Matt and David seriously discuss the future of the show, if any, with other people.

Yeah, the real cancellation news will be kind of sad, but it won't be any kind of surprise.

I think If we're lucky, we might get 3 or 4 new eps during the summer. 1 or 2 in June, 1 in July, and 1 in August.. if we're lucky  :) As for the other ep's, who knows?

I expect that they'll show the remaining episodes during the summer.  The episodes are already paid for and in the can, so FOX might as well show them.

4ACV coming on DVD Xmas 2004? THAT'S TOO LONG! If only my DVD player was regionless... Anyway, if FOX cared enough about not letting Cartoon Network air "Less Than Hero" before they did, I think we'll see all 8 remaining episodes this summer.

How will that make any difference?  Regions 2&4 will be the first to get the DVDs.

fox cancelling the sow could be a good thing. It could give futurama another chance without fox.

A lot of networks would pay for a matt groening show. espcially now the simpsons is rumored to be near its end.

The Simpsons Movie will be made shortly, and FOX is supposedly examining the option of taking the TV sereis out of production, and spawning a whole host of Simpsons Movies providing that the first one is successful.

FOX are also rumoured to be talking to Matt Groening about a Futurama Movie. Matt is saying "Yes Please" and Fox are saying "BOW TO US THEN".

So a Futurama Movie is unlikely. Hopefully Futurama will have some higher ratings as the end nears, and by its death it will be a huge hit for FOX despite the mistreatment. Just to piss 'em off!  :evillaugh:

Actually, the Simpsons SHOULD last for three more seasons. If FOX decides to end its production, it will at least give it one more "farewell season", which would be the 17th season.

Back on-topic, Futurama should air in summer, as FOX is usually estatic when it comes to summer. NBC, though, miserably failed when they wanted to do "all-new summer programming". But FOX knows how to get there viewers, and they will defintely run the remaining Futurama's. In fact, Futurama can even surivive at least 4 pre-emptions during summer and STILL make it. I can see the promos now...

"Are you starting to fear summer reruns? [cue Pschyo music] No worries, FOX has that taken care of! We've got all-new shows to last you through summer and then some! "Junior Idol", "World's Biggest Crap" and "Mary Millionare: The Woman Traitor" are just some of the new shocking reality TV coming to you! Also is NEW episodes of "Cedric" and "Futurama" [cue actual 2 second Futurama clip!] This summer...on FOX!"

Good promo, but Fox would ditch the Futurama clip and add "plus 1 rerun of Andy Richter!"

The Futurama Movie could work, providing that the Fry-Leela thing was finally resolved and the remaining plotlines were brought to a close. It would be a fitting "cap" to a glorious programme.

I still think the main plotlines will be brought to some kind of closure in the remaining episodes.

Not necessarily. I expect that there will be some things left unexplained as there was always hope for a fifth production season AND there will be other planned episodes that were never animated or recodred.

who knows what they will do it could be a new coke back to classic coke scheme to drum up supprt and then air the show again, although no happening, a guy can dream.

also i wonder if the writters will ever just snap and release scripts of un aired and un creted episodes ever. could be cool. heck they did it for starwars.
