One of the things that to me makes futurama so great, even better than the simpsons is that it perfectly mixes a regular animated comedy with a more deep story driven show. I wonder which one people like the best? I'll mention a few.

The brain spawn/nibblonians story.
Fry's past.
Fry and Leela.
Kif and Amy.
DOOP
The Omicronians.
Leela's Parents.
Mom and Co.
Bender and Flexo.
Farnsworth and Wernstrom.
Richard Nixon.

I'm not sure if all of those count as deep storylines, but I believe that they all have appeared in multiple shows in which they have built upon the foundation of the first episode. Any thoughts?

I like the Brain Spawn/Nibblonian plot line. It's amazing how they had it planned out from the beginning and left lots of clues in other episodes. Fry and Leela and Fry's past are close seconds.

It's like the United Nations of the futurama universe. It has been likened to Star Trek's "Federation." Essentially an alliance of a large number of worlds.

I just heard about some of the clues from other episodes involving nibblonians, such as in jurassic bark. I'll have to look for that the next time it's on.

1) The whole freezing of Fry/why is he in the future.

I mean how many shows plan this far in advance? They deliberately put in stuff in SP3K they knew wouldn't pay off for another 3-4 years. That's ambitious, and that's class.

2) Amy & Kif roamnce

Gives these 2 side-characters depth, make them so much more than just one-string characters.

3) Leela & fry.

Well, they provide most of the sweet 'n cute moments.

My favorite are:
Bender and Flexo
Nixon
Farnsworth and Wernstrom

I must say, bravo on the Nibblonian story, laying it in throughout the entire series, with a beautiful culmination (or IS it?) in, "The Why of Fry".

The Why of Fry was so good, it makes me want to vote for the brainspawn/nibblonian storyline. But I can't forget The Day The Earth Stood Stupid, which I thought was weak both in story and jokes.

So I will go with....(drum roll).....

...Fry's past! Yay. His parents are good, Mr. Panucci is good. What else is there? I forget...but I'm sure it's all good.

ALL of the plots are good but There's a tie between Amy+Kif and Fry+Leela   :)

I like the Leela's parents thing because without it there wouldn't be any "Leela's Homeworld", which made me cry almost.
"Where The Buggalo Roam" and "Amazon Woman In The Mood" have to be the best examples of Kif and Amy (Haven't seen "Kif Gets Knocked Up A Notch", I started watching FOX since "Less Than Hero", weekly, anyway)
The Why Of Fry had Fry and Leela's "First REAL Kiss" and 4ACV14 (I think, or was it 18?), the series finale, will be the CAP of it. Fry's future thing AND the Nibblonians (SEE "THE WHY OF FRY" ) are both good plots too.
Nixon has been a, what I call "Unmain character" meaning he's in at least 6 episodes or less. Amy's parents are good "Unmain Characters".
Beezlebot, Roberto, Robot Santa, Flexo. All Unmain. Can anybody think of any OTHER Unmain characters?

Back to the topic. Futurama IS about...6 different storylines. That's what makes it what it is.

I like them all equally as much, no one is better than the rest. It's this mix of plot lines that makes Futurama so good.
