Yes - It was "bonne nuit".  The gargoyal's name was Pazuzu, a reference to The Exorcist II, where we learn that is the name of the demon that possesed her.

The ending was a bit chilling.  The Professor had created this demon gargoyal and the whole story was Pazuzu telling his offspring "and that is how I gained my freedom", i.e. this particular evil was unleashed on the world.  The "bonne nuit", (notice they were in Paris and this is yet another use of the extinct French language) or goodnight was a sinister one, kind of a "Yes do have a good night - because I'll soon be coming for you".  Maybe the Professor inadvertenly started the end of the world.

As to the episode itself - genius.  I laughed throughout.  The Professor driving 35 MPH ("Because we're in a hurry!" ) yelling "Pazuzu!" to the various larval stages of Zoidberg to baby Bender - this one rocked hard.  I will say the very end with Pazuzu left me a bit cold however, so I will give it a 4.85 out of 5, then round up.

The episode was ok some of act two sucked and the last little ending part wasn't needed. The rest was great.C+

The gargoyle reminded me more of the gargoyle in
Tales for the Dark Side: The Movie.

I don't know why, but I didn't like this episode very much.  I can't figure out why everyone else does, so it must be just me.  I found this episode to be *slightly* better, but not much better, than Less than Hero.  Some of the stuff in the episode, such as that race scene, felt to me more like fillers.  I didn't quite get all that stuff with the gargoyles.  The ending was just very sudden and weird.  I also thought that that stuff with Zoibergs stages was overdone.  It was funny at first, but then I  thought it got old.  I give this ep five stars out of ten.

My favorite episode of this season is still Jurassic Bark.  So I dunno, maybe I'm just expecting all episodes to be as good, or at least nearly as good, as that one.

Now that I finally had a chance to see it, awesome!!

This episode totally makes up for the last two weak eps ("Kif..." and "LTH" ). This ep made use of all of the cast and made them all funny, and even brought back supporting characters and made them funny (ie, Dwight, Leela's parents.)

It's been mentioned before, but Zoidberg's larval stages were just sick and gross enough to be cute. Also, while the crew goes back to fetuses, Bender goes back into a blue-print cd....great! Fry's cracking voice brought back some memories for me -- my voice always cracked whenever I tried to be 'mature' or smooth around girls.

Great episode! 9 out of 10.

This episode was great. The "kids" were so cute and the younger they got the better.

My favorite part was when Bender said "When I grow up I want to be a steam shovel"

i thought this episode would suck, so i didnt bother to tape it. But it was good! damnit! 4/5

Fat amy! haha. Her mom's line about never having grandchildren- haha!
Leela and Fry dating- cute in the good way.
I thought the racing scene was kinda lame, but the effects were so awesome it more than made up for it.

What was with the ending? I think they could of lost that.

I thought it was great, but some scenes were a too weird, even for me. Mainly the nuclear powered teeth. What the hell, man. Jury's still out on the gargoyle thing. My first reaction was "what the hell?" but now I'm finding it kind of funny. I don't know if it's completely random, or if it's a movie reference or what. But I like it.

PS. Oh yeah, some more bitching. The "Leela criticizing her parents for being too lenient" gag was used too often, and I'll agree with the person who said the race seemed tacked on(although it would make a great level in the Futurama videogame).

Zoidberg "dying" struck me as very hilarious. I know it's obvious that he wouldn't really die, but seeing him jump into the fountain, grow old and crumble into dust was so shocking and funny.

Did anyone catch the Simpsons Raplh joke when Farnsworth picks up the "kids" from Leela's house? I'm pretty sure a lot did, but I just wanna point it out.

Oh, and one cut during the race scene was the most hilarious for me. My school just wrapped upo our final shows of "Fiddler On The Roof," which I was tech crew for, so the "Fiddler Way Below The Roof" on the marquee when they pass the theater had me rolling on the ground.

Great ep.

Hmmm. So the Gargoyle some how learned French... might have stayed too close to the Prof's universal translater.

Funny episode, LOVED Zoidbergs forms, favorite was the crinoid.

Ahh... I really enjoyed that episode very much!!
Just saw it the 4th time at the university today.
We watched it at the end of our english-lesson as our professor is also a big Futurama fan.
Yes!! After weeks of begging!! :D

Definitly one of the best episodes of the 4th Season and of all!
I'll give it a 9 out of 10.

About Zoidberg not changing into other forms before he aged to death, that is his final stage, the reproductive one. The other forms were immatures.

This was a good episode, but not the best I've seen. The race seen was good and it had some good jokes in there, but the ending was more Simpsonsy* then usual.

Let me start out by restating how much I hate Leela's folks.  Now that we have that out of the way (and I really mean out of the way, because I really hate them) the episode itself was pretty good.  Watching the Professor devolve into youth was pretty hilarious and, at the same time, insightful into his past.  It was also enlightening to find out that Amy wasn't always as cute as she is now.  Leela's story wasn't as good as it could have been, partly because of her parents' inexcuseable presence and partly because her persistent insistence on a 'normal' adolescence.  Maybe it's just me, but emphatically pressing one's parents (who are really annoying) to be strict with oneself is just a tad unbelievable, even for an anti-aged mutant in the world of the future.  Bender's reverse-aging was also a little skewed.  I would have preferred to see him start losing body parts (reverse assembly) than turning into that little robot, because we have seen him being 'born' as well as a picture of him as a younger robot.

Fry and Leela's date was cute, but just obtuse enough to prevent it from being cute enough to hate.  The Professor's driving was also pretty hilarious.  The day after watching this episode I was driving home from class, following this elderly gentleman driving 30mph (48k/h) on a stretch of road marked 50mph (80kph) and usually travelled at 60mph (96kph).  Instead of wishing the guy would have a heart attack and die, I thought of this episode and laughed.

Overall, I'd say this episode gets 6.5 of 8.

I need a reason to hate them?  Well I suppose it all has to do with my own parents who gave me up at a young age and provided the State with misleading information about my background so I could never track them down...but from a purely critical point of view, I think they were brought into the series too soon, appear too often, and are too similar to be unrelated enough to have a kid (although mutant inbreeding could result in counter-mutative mutations).  In a more broad sense, I'm disappointed that they aren't, in fact, aliens.  The idea of a marooned orphan with no living parents is a bit more, dare I say, 'romantic' than having parents who send her from one painful existence to another.  I don't know, maybe I just don't like their irritating voices.

Best line of the episode was when the Professor was in his 1970s stage and said, "Dayyyyyum!" (That says "Damn!" ).

That line continues to crack me up, every time I flip through the episode for reference.

I don't know how Billy West said that in a different voice, and then immediately went into the Professor voice. It seemed like it came from somewhere else...anyway - well done Billy, well done editors, well done animators!

I totally agree with DocThunder on the "they should've been aliens, and shouldn't have been introduced so early in the series"-part.

That said, I kinda liked Munda & Morris in this episode, They came across as sewer mutants, weird and different. Inmeassurably better than their stint in "Less Than Hero".

Haha, this episode was great. Farnsworth couldn't say one thing without being at least a little bit funny (Because we're in a hurry!/Damn good meat!/Pre-life, then death/Head of the FBI), Zoidberg's constant morphing was hilarious and the rest of the crew weren't too bad either. It was all good, but it was over too fast. It could of been turned into a 60 minute special without time to spare, but still, they did in 30.

All in all, an excellent episode, best so far in the season, 5/5  :)
