Originally posted by Venus: The thing that intrigues me about this shot the most is that Fry seems to be reacting to Leela's grief. Look at his expression, that's not a normal expression to have in a pic. And his sightlines seem to match up with her face. I wonder how that works into the plot. I'm sure that its not a random thing. I've been wondering the same thing, since Sarge posted that the first time. What I've come up with is: it's not a photo, it's actually Fry himself, caught in another dimension. Look at this Sarge doodle it also indicates the picture is "alive". How did this happen? Maybe Fry was attacked by the space bee, who came looking for their queen. Fry was dying and the only way they could save him, was using one of Farnsworth's new machines to transport him into another dimension ( a 2d world) reducing Fry's soul/spirit/mind/whatever to a picture (a twsit on the PYHOMS head-transplant). While Zoidberg starts curing Fry's body, a grief-(and guilt)-stricken Leela volunteers to take "Fry" with her home. They talk, Leela is blaming herself for Fry's emminent death, Fry assure her he doesn't blame her, it was an accident and many a shipper-moment occuours. Hope it made sense.

Uh, I hate to rain on everyone's parade, but I think Sarge was just messing with you guys. This is "The Sting." Why? A. Space bees equal space suits. I seriously doubt that in "Devil's Hands...", Fry and Leela would be outside the ship, on a normal delievery. B. Look at Fry's helmet...it looks like honey, or beeswax, covering the top of his head. This is "Devil's Hands..." Why? It's Leela realizing that Fry loved her, and something happened to him. The way the pictures are set up, this way it makes a hell of a lot more sense.

Start - everything goes back to normal ordeal. Well, for shows like Beavis and Butthead (which has no real continuing storyline), it works. For something like King of the Hill (which the characters, like Joseph, changes over the course of the series), it doesn't. Futurama has a story line so it would have to have some sort of explanation.

should. you can't just kill them all, or set them in the future for no reason, although in this show it is hte future.
continuality is all i ever wanted out of it, and well looks like we will never get that. no two part shows, no real references to past shows other than the obscure background shot, or the nonchalant line spoken by somone about something you wouldn't get if you didn't know alot of the episodes really well.
would have been nice to see fry go insane in one episode, and i mean snap due to his constant rejection and just leave or somthing forcing leela to either get questioned by someone, or questoin herself and what fry means to her.
could have made a cool episode. maybe the sting does that, could happen.
she makes a mistake, kills fry because of it, questons what fry really means to her. blah blah blah, you get the idea.
