Re-write an episode

This is kind of like the other 'episode idea' thread, but a little different.

If you had the opportunity to re-write any one episode of Futurama, what would you do differently? Please give a little out-line or sample of your work.

For example, I was disappointed with 505 "Kif Gets Knocked Up a Notch," so here's my little re-write.

--we cut in right after it's been proven that Leela is the 'parent' of Kif's, uh, "spawn"--

It's still in the Professor's lab-
Kif is upset that it wasn't Amy, his smizmar, that got him pregnant. However, Leela oddly comforts him by promising to care for her only thing carrying her genes (she still doesn't know of her parents, yet.)And, before the end of Act II, Leela and Kif share an akward hug. As they lean into each other, Fry and Amy can now be seen furiously standing behind them.

Begining of Act III -- PE lounge. Fry and Amy are still upset about how their 'loves' have inadvernantly gotten together. Both fume, but it is Bender (just walking in) that suggests how they can channel their anger -- revenge.

Next, change a plot point. Kif must still make the trek to his homeworld, but he must do it with the mother of his spawn. The group so far consists of Kif, Leela, Zoidberg, Hermes, the Professor, and Zapp. Fry and Amy are not with the group at this point. When landing...

Kif: "Tradition states that I must give birth at the same swamp my forefathers did. (pause) Right over there."

--and some stuff I haven't written. But you get the idea. Take something and run with it.--

I would rewrite the pilot episode, and have it star Homer and Bart.

Also, I would rewrite every other episode so that they don't have plots, just a whole bunch of jokes and a nonsensical ending.

I'd probably rewrite... *thinks*  I Second That Emotion and make it that the emotions Bender felt were really his.  The funny thing was, before I saw that episode I just heard the plot, and I said "Wouldn't it be funny for Farnsworth to be like 'The Empathy chip was damaged!  The emotions you felt were really yours!'" and he really said something along those lines.  But instead of him saying "Oh, nevermind.  The empathy chip was really running at full capacity" I'd have the empathy chip really broken, and Bender's eyes widen and then he'd say something like "Awww, Dammit!"  then cut to the credits.  :x

(I hope that maked sense.  It's kind of late and I can't focus)

I don't know what I would rewrite, but I know what rewrite I would like to see incorporated into an episode: namely Brainsluggo's rewrite of "A Pharaoh To Remember".

Note: Don't go there if you find the idea of sexuality and eye-candy in cartoons repulsive.

I would rewrite thats, lobstertaiment and kick zoidbergs uncle from it. Zoidberg becoming actor filled with good Zoidberg lines would be great.

I would re write Mothers Day so that Farns worth and Mom can still have their romance and not having those sex scenes.

Leela adopting a child as a good change? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... oh wait, you were serious. Let me laugh even harder. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Seriously, I don't think a kid as a main character on a show such as Futurama would be very wise. I mean, you can only bear Cubert and Dwight for like, one episode.

And I disagree.  I don't think Angleyne should've wound up with Bender 'cos then you'd have a pointless, weak, and not-so-important character in the show all the time, then it would just suck.  If Bender's gonna get a girl, at least have one who could be part of the Planet Express crew and be a cool character, not some girly girl fembot.  :x  lol

Good point...a child would not work. That's why other shows that get new kids 90% of the time jump the shark. An episode I'd rewrite is "Jurassic Bark", in which Fry would get his dog cloned...but it wouldn't be his dog! It would be some other dog and he discovers a tag on the buried dog that says "Seymour II" that was owned by Yancy and discovers that his other dog is actually at the Museum of Natural History as it was contributed by the young Phillip J. Fry. See? It combines "Luck of the Fryish" with "Jurassic Bark"!

hmmm good question, well if given the chance i'd probably give Where the buggalo roam a do-over basically because I don't find kif a deserving enough character to carry a lead role in any episode, sure he is comical as brannigans futile subordiante, yet I find he just doesn't match the comical uniqueness of the rest of the crew. Especially Dr John Zoidberg!! Or Bender Bending Rodregiez. I apologise to any kif sympathests. But remember....

"You still have Zoidberg! YOU ALL STILL HAVE ZOIDBERG!!!"

Since you apologized, I'll pretend I didn't read that. Kif has more potential to carry an episode than other characters, like Hermes.

And threAmy/Kif relationship needed to be developed properly.

at the end of luck of the fryish, it would have been cool if fry walked away from his nephew's grave and punched the air ala bender in the breakfast club. that ending just would have been perfect  that episode was fantastic anyway.

i would re-write parasites lost and make it so fry keeps the worms and gets leela for the episode but dumps her after bender convinces him she's a cheap fluezy (noooooooo!)

Roswell That Ends Well, as the  second-to-last episode.
When Enos gets blown up in the Test Site- Heck, that's not what I'm rewriting- Fry's back starts to slowly disappear. Then when he "Changes History" he slowly reappars. and then at the end of "The Devil's Hands..." (I don't know anything about the episode, folks!) he disappears forever, almost making "Luck Of The Fryrish" a waste of episode.*

*POSTER'S NOTE: I liked BOTH of the mentioned episodes that have AIRED, but it would be REALLY  funny to see after 4 years of getting used to the 31st century- He either ceases to exist, like I mentioned, or WAKE UP FROM A DREAM! That'd be a twist.

Or the "Newhart" series finale? (whatever the title, it was Bob Newhart's latest show)
Heck, even the major part of "The Wizard of Oz," was a dream.

Still... (& this would have to be the series finale)
Howzabout:
Fry 'wakes up' in a hospital. He doesn't know where he is & there are no familiar faces.
Turns out that he was in a cryogenic accident; He was cryogenically suspended (for a matter of hours or days); Resulting in his being in a coma for 3-4 years.
To help him deal with the trauma, both physical and emotional, he is assigned a 'Cryogenic Counselor' (sp?): Who, it just so happens, is a binocular dead-ringer for Leela.

<Yeah, yeah. So I'm a sucker for the Fry-Leela thang. Sue me.>

I would re-write Holiday Craptacular and make it, well, less crap. For starters I would make it clear that all of the scenarios are most definitely not canon. This would be clear right from the very start of the episode. I would drop the whole Space Bee's talking gangsta thing, in fact I wouldn't have them go back there in the first place...

The songs would have to be re-written so that they actually flowed and were memorable for the right reasons. Each act would wrap up properly in a satisfactory way. In fact, to be honest I would probably scrap the whole thing and make it be just another single story proper canon Xmas episode, but have Robot Santa team up with Roberto and the Robot Devil for kicks...
