seems to me that the show has had a similar history to the first star trek series , so lets hope in a couple of decades they'll make around 6 or 7 feature length films.

2002 saw the cancellation of a number of sci-fi shows before their time:  Futurama, Farscape, Firefly...  HEY! Wait a minute!

Attention all sci-fi television writers, starting your series title with an "F" is the kiss of death!

And although I never saw it, Odessy 5 on Showtime was supposed to be pretty decent.

Sadly, the fact is that sci-fi is expensive (included fine 3-D work in a cartoon) and crappy "non-scripted" shows cost $11 per episode to make and are a current junk food favoite amongst sheep - er, viewers.

If Futurama would go where Star Trek has gone before, by which i mean getting cancelled, put into syndication, brought back as an animated series  :laff: , then films, more series and finally a religion :laff: , (remember the tagline!), then I might accept the fact that there will no fifth season (production season that is..)
