Kind of ok but not good ratings for Futurama, a 5.0 gets it a fourth in its timeslot.

Well I hope the final ratings are closer to Metered Markets than Fast National ratings, 4.1 would be devistating for Futurama. I wonder what Futurama's ratings are in the 18-49 & 18-34 demographic.

I'm not following how a 4.1/7 would be "devastating".  It's not great, but it's not horrible either.  You have to consider FOX's lack of promotion on the show also - I mean seriously, if this episode of Futurama had been promoted as much as that rag "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" crap, Futurama probably would have led it's time slot.

At this point, there's nothing that can be "devastating" to Futurama, as it's already been "cancelled".  At least it's on CN reruns.

The term cancellation means it will never be shown on that network again, while hiatus, which is where Futurama is at, is when a show has been halted and its status is pending.  If Fox cancelled Futurama, there would be no new episodes shown on Fox.  Fox has cancelled shows with 4.6 average ratings. I have a feeling Fox is seeing if Futurama could last without Ads, bad timeslot, and going against sporting events.  If Fox really wanted Futurama to get worst ratings, they would put Futurama on Friday where shows have lower ratings than Futurama and those shows have advertising.

Maybe, but the 7pm timeslot on Sunday nights isn't exactly "prime time".

Look, FOX may say Futurama is "on hiatus", but that's only because they still have episodes left that they haven't shown.  I'm not giving up all hope, but it seems damn unlikely that there will be any futher production on "new" episodes.

We PEELers however count Cancelled as not ordering any more episodes to the extent FOX has done with Futurama. The makers have been out of work for over a year, and so they have other jobs and you can't just click your fingers and they all shoot back to Futurama.

The bad thing is that if Futurama does get renewed it will take 1-1 1/2 years to get new episodes. That will surely hurt ratings.  :(

dude, if it gets renewed, there's enough eps they haven't shown from seasons 3 and 4 that are backlogged so much they could last till the brand new ones get off the ground.
