I'm a bit suprised that noone mentioned Bender's "We are not amused" line  :)

Has anyone taken the time to translate the alien writing on the tube of super-powered cream? Mr. Cohen indicated it would be worth our whiles, but I don't want to waste time if someone's already done it.

This episode is groovy. I think I died laughing when the NJT themesong came on. And at the 'winners don't do drugs' line.

B+

yeah, I didn't think it was worth it either  :hmpf:

I thought this episode was great..I thought it was going to be stupid at first: the same ol' out-of-ideas-so-let's-give-our-cartoon-characters-super-powers kind of episode, but it was actually pretty good. I loved some of Bender's lines, the Swedish bot, and the scene with the mutants.

I too give it a B+

really i give it a straight A just for the overall humor... including benders quips. i.e. We are not amused, and Superking the best one of the three, and his whole way of getting into the team with the costumes and his speech

My ikea stuff ALWAYS break down the same way the robot did.
That doesn't happen to us. Ikea is quite good actually. They have furniture with both design and function.

Um... Willsterdude, you do realise that you bumped a 5 year old thread to reply to a post that was made six years ago by a user who no longer posts on this forum right?

Love the dialog in this episode:

Leela: Let's see...which powers do we have? Super Strength?
(Fry karate chops table; Leela kicks down wall)
Fry: Yup.
Leela: Uh-huh. Lickety-Speed?
(Leela and Fry run quickly across room)
Fry: Yup!
Leela: Yes sir! Ability to command the loyalty of sea creatures?
Fry: Hey Zoidberg! Get in here!
Zoidberg: Screw you!
Leela: Ain't got that!
Fry: Nope!

Ever since this episode I have used the name SuperKing for all the high scores I have set on videogames. Not every episode can or should be profound and thought provoking. This was a funny and wacky episode that compliments all of the great "deep" episodes that the show has.

The idea "the Futurama gang gets a paste that makes them into super heroes" seems pretty lame, but I quite liked the episode. Not among my favorites, but it's still nice and has its moments (like Bender's "we are not amused!" and Leela dressing in layers... Plus its one of Leela's hottest episodes. :) I like this kind of episode one in a while, perhaps twice a season, but no more; that's what happened with The Simpsons.

His crew includes a badger with a troubled past and nothing left to lose, an elephant who never forgets........to KILL, and a seldom used crab named lucky, aka citizen snips.

If every Futurama episode were emotionally charged we would all get tired of it and it would lose all meaning. We need "fluff" episodes and episodes that don't build on a greater interwoven story to take a break and get some cheap laughs.

Also, Superking is one of the funniest nicknames i have ever heard and to this day i use it as my name whenever i set a highscore on anything.

It is a great episode, I can not think of one futurama episode from the original series I do not like though. My favorite part of this episode I would have to say is when Leela tells her dad not to tell anyone her identity. After that the first chance he gets he tells his friend. The way he just comes out and said it is quite humorous.

Fry: "I feel like I've been mauled by Jesus"

...

Fry: "Leela I think you're missing the big picture.  When you were a kid what was biggest fantasy?"
Leela: "To have parents."
Fry: "Whatever...the correct answer is to be a superhero."
