Nobody opened this yet? Good, that means I get to!

Well, I found this episode pretty disappointing. I can barely remember half of it. Worst episode of Season "5" so far.

This was not one of the better episodes. The cheesy theme songs, the way the parents were thrown in there, and how on earth did Leela wear pants under her uniform? The legs were bare!

I think it was the worse episode that futurama ever made.

It had every few jokes the only good joke in it was the "Good news anyone" joke. The episode could have passed has a new Simpsons episode. :(

I have to agree with the somewhat negative reviews so far. First off, I'll admit that I don't care much for Leela's parents. That's partially why I didn't care much for this ep. I don't know what it is, but I really think Turanga Munda and Turanga Morris should be kept far below in the sewers.

It did seem a bit too similiar to that Simpsons THoH where Bart and Lisa gain super-powers. Also, there was the joke: "an elephant that never forgets...to KILL!" was used in the Simpsons too, or something similar like it.

Surpisingly, for a Leela-centric ep., the funniest parts belonged to Fry. I did really like Fry as "Captain Yesterday". His disco-leisure suit did make me laugh. Also, him foolishingly trusting Bender on right and wrong was pretty nice.

My main problem is that there was too much stuff jammed into this episode, and it really hurt because of it. We have Leela reuniting with her parents above ground, the miracle cream, the super-heros part, Leela missing her parents, the Zookeeper, the diamond hiest, Leela's parents being kidnapped, the gang having to steal the diamond.

Too much stuff, not enough time. Did it come across to anyone else that the final diamond theft was way too short? It just kinda ended.

Fluff. Pure fluff.  Nothing really compelling, nothing really damning.  A very predictable episode.  Straight middle of the road for me.

Yeah, it wasn't that good.  I expected more....  Somewhat funny, but compares to how people view the new episodes of the Simpsons.  I like the elephant never forgets... to kill joke, but someone said that's already been done....  It was disapointing for a new episode in weeks.  Although not horrible......  I don't know if Futurama can do that to us.

Yes, when I heard the "elephant that never forgets" joke, I thought that that was a Simpsons-style joke.

There were funny lines. "A license to kill" The whole Swedish thing. "And F-shirts for our friends with two arms on one side!" "You're pulling me!" The fact that the mayor pushes a clown nose.
Fry's idiocy continues with "Pack of highly." Oh, and of course, how could we forget Teddy Roosevelt!!!
The tag-line "Soon to be a Major Religion" - we (PEELers) wish!

The New Justice Team theme song was supposed to be bad - that was the joke.

The thing that appeared when Bender got punched by the kangaroo - 01001010 - is 74 in decimal. It's "H" on the ASCII table (I looked because of the commentary on the DVD for 1ACV03 "I, Roommate" ).

Oh, and yes, it ended too fast. I was left thinking, "How did that happen again?"

I liked the ep.  Granted it was way to hurried and had too much going on.  That aside I thought it was funny with lots of small gags that don't usually show up in a "regular" Futurama ep.  It was silly, campy and intentionally weird.  I found it refreshing.  7.5/10

P.S.  I will now officially be known as the Badger with a troubled past.

The zookeeper reminds me about that waiter in The Simpsons, the one who says "Why Yessss". The mayor made the episode also weaker with his incompetence and tone.  The Teddy Roosevelt scene was funny.  Fry and Bender scenes were good.  Leela’s parents slowed down the pace of the episode.  Leela as Cloberella was an emotional downer, she was depressed most of the episode, making this semi-funny episode as a downer.  And that scene with her parents was over the top.

C, felt like a bad Simpsons episode

i liked the episode upon the second viewing.. many jokes got by me the first time... loved fry's theory on invisible rings hehe... i do think the episode was a bit on the wierd side and the only complaint i have is that Bender seemed out of character... i would have suspected him to pull more hyjinxs as a superhero *shrugs*... and i wonder what it said on the back of the miracle cream in alienese i guess thats for another thread though  :)

you have to be kidding me. Me and B.Frankendorfer can NOT be the only people that loved this ep! Or then again maybe we are among the easy to amuse, i don't know. I did find the layers thing kinda odd, Leela's legs were bare with her hero uniform so she couldn't have had pants underneath. And why didn't her parents recognize her in the museum? i mean seriously, purple hair, one eye and that lovely little thing called voice recognition. They really should have got a clue.
Other then that i loved this ep, the Leela/parents interaction scenes were adorable. And i'm fully convinced that little 'we're proud of you' speech was a premeditated ploy to guilt her into confesing where she had been. Parents are good at stuff like that. I've seen it three times already and i still laugh all the way through it. Oh, and the powerpuff parody was funny too. i actually didn't see it coming.

EDIT: When did Leela's mom grow a tail? And where was i when this happened? It was never there before!

I was wondering much the same thing.

The high point of this episode was the opening tagline.  I dunno, I went into this episode not expecting muh, hoping and praying that it wouldn't be like an extended "Stretch Dude and Clobber Girl" sketch.  But it was.  Hell, they were basically the same heroes, with the exception of Fry.  Clobberella?  Clobber Girl?  And what was Bender's "power?"  Stretching?  Let's show some creativity here, people.

Also, Leela shouted out Fry's name in the museum.  What's up with that?

Also, I think the point of that street clothes-costume-street clothes segment was just for the sheer impossibility of it.

I see from the previous comments that the average review comes out to a B- (many A-, many C-).  I'll give a grade of B or 3.5 cans of Bachelor Chow out of 5.  Some cute bits like Bender's super powers and pi-kea (I have Ikea's so-so kits).  The Professor getting blown through the wall and then returning through the hole he made (Bad news....).  Still Better than the Simpsons which is painful to watch at times....

yeah i kinda figured that too. i was so torn between picking it apart or just going with the flow. Impossible as it was, it was still funny.

I found this episode kind of funny, my favorite parts being the Zookeeper's animal jokes (a badger with a troubled past, lol) and when Fry, Leela, and Bender were trying to get away from the mayor (I left my apartment on fire!). And when the mayor was pressing the clown nose it reminded me of the Powerpuff Girl's clown telephone... heh.

I liked it. 4/5.  :)

I liked that bit to.  :)

Although overall I was a bit disappointed.
It was funny but as posted above the concept has been done before in The Simpsons. I think it could have been better...

As for Leela/Parents interaction, I think it was a little rushed but still good.
I liked the begining after she set up the museum meeting, and came out and was bragging about it to the crew. I did notice the tail thing, but in 'Leelas Homeworld' they were wearing full body hooded robes and that would cover her tail.

Overall I'd give it a C+/B- not the best I've seen...  :hmpf:

i like Leela's moms kitty. She was so cute, even with the weird tail thing going on. And she kept trying to get Mundas attention during the phone conversation, just like my kitty does when i'm on the phone.

Check the season2 DVD concept art
Turanga Munda (Leela's Mum) does have a tail.
Prehaps there has never been a shot that showed it before?

I like the episode. I thought it was different. I really like it where we get to see more of Leela?s parents and I also like the mutants, big ears and big mouth are funny. Great moments are:

I love Andrew the little robot.

Fry: Hey Zoidberg get here! Zoidberg: Screw you!

Love the superhero theme

Love Captain Yesterday

Bender: 9 10 a big fat hen

The Ikea Robot

Can you tell me who is Teddy Roosevelt?

The insanity from the not-seeing-new-episodes must be seeping in, but I actually thought it was good. The theme song and that binary action word had me in stitches. I didn't really like the zoo keeper, but the part where he was contacting the PE Crew and:
"Professor, isn't it your nap time?"
"Yes, dammit!"

I loved the part with the cat being saved from a tree, although it was a tad predictable.

Like many others, I find that the episode looked rushed. When it finished, I was expecting at least 5 more minutes.

I also really liked the F-shirt joke.
