Okay, we've had some good news recently regarding episodes being aired. (March 2 and 9, btw) Now, here's the poll.

What are your feelings about when the remaining episodes will be shown? Do you think that Futurama will continue to not be pre-empted and end this spring or will Fox hold some episodes back and make a 'sixth' season next fall?

Hmmm...."Pessimistic -- there will be a 'season' 6!!"

They can`t be so smart, to air all the eps, and they are too stupid to end the show, and never show the last eps, b/c then we will invade their buildings !

Yep. A "sixth" season. Although it won't actually be a season, it will just be filler for other stuff.

I think they'll probably show the rest of the episodes during the summer just so there is new programming out there.

How about they save 2 or 3 episodes to start of season 6 (much like season 3), and then continue with all-new 5ACV episodes?

That's what I hope for in my more cheerier moments.

Teral, that's probably one of the brighter outlooks, and I for one would gladly forgo seeing the last few episodes of the 4ACV block to allow the team time to produce new 5ACV episodes. Or even have Futurama go off the air for a year or two (which, BTW, happens with TV here in the UK quite often (Red Dwarf, Jonathan Creek, etc.) just so the team can get back together.

I guess I'm willing to give FOX the benefit of the doubt and vote for them to finish the season this year.

I'm still giving them that benefit of the doubt :crossesfingers: but I don't know how long I can give them that...

With the way FOX has treated Futurama, I don't see any way to be anything but pessimistic...  :(

Well, hope usually dies at last.
After all, why else would FOX treat Futurama this way? *wink, wink*

I've got a feeling that they probably will make a season 6 out of the remaining episodes. But I also think that they'll probably not show all of them either. But hopefully they'll all make it onto DVD  :)

I don't see how they could finish airing the remaining episodes this "season" with them being shown once every other month.  I think the unshown eps won't get anything as good as a butchered season 6.  I think they'll end up as a Family Guy type filler to be thrown in when you least expect it.

I hate the way Fox treats Futurama. I just can't understand why they are trying to destroy it like this. It's like there is someone working up at Fox who has a grudge against Futurama for some reason...

I'm sad to say,I think fox will not air the rest of the series.  They will air one or two eps here and there to bide time until the replacement shows are installed.  Joe Ironlung will fail miserably as well as they will lose their shirt leagally from all the lawsuits that will stem from fox's ill-conceived "Sharks vs. Kids in shallow water" reality series.

I'm dreading that they won't show the last one.  From what I understand Leela relunctantly realizes her feelings for Fry after something bad happens.  Or something like that

The last one sounds awesome, and I think you're right about Leela realizing her feelings for Fry. But what I do know is that Fry tries to show his love to her through playing music, and he gets robot hands and the Robot Devil is in it, and makes a deal with him. I'm pretty worried that it won't ever air as well, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll make it to DVD  :)

I expect FOX to broadcast the remaining episodes by the end of May.  I also expect FOX to issue a formal cancellation announcement in May.

Well, let's see.  If memory serves me correct, FOX began the season with 16 episodes in the can.  Only five have been aired to date, so eleven episodes remain.  There are 13 Sundays in March, April, and May, which leaves FOX enough time to air the remaining episodes by the end of May.

Also, it is normal practice for FOX to issue cancellation announcements in May.

yeah there are 13 Sundays, but with the crap that Fox has I suspect over half of those won't be shown in that time....  Like now, they play a movie.....

I'm very sure that all the episodes will eventually hit the airwaves, but I really doubt FOX will show them all this season.

I agreee. They'll probably use mind-erasing lasers to zap away our precious memories of previous episodes. And replace them with another viewing of Independance Day and that Mel Gibson episode of The Simpsons.

Who knows!  I mean, I'm pretty *optimistic* so I think FOX will bring the episodes back on the air and it'll get high ratings and they could possibly make new episodes.  *Shrug*  Hey, it could happen. =P

I'm with Kryten and FishyJoe.

I reckon they'll stretch the 5th season out, then at the end just kind of leave a few remaining episodes hanging there. They'll show them as a Season 6 just so they can tell all the fans "See, we told you there would be another season".

I'm torn between the idea of them airing a sixth season and never even bothering to air the final eps.

I'm not an optimist who sees the glass half full,
I'm not a pessimist who sees the glass as half empty,
I'm a cynic - I knew the glass was full of crap, right from the beginning.

I think they will air the final eps someday. They put all that money into making them so I don't think the are about to just forget about them. They might show them slowley but they will show them some time...I hope!

Season 6 is being optimistic. It's not possible to finish the eps in the spring.
