I thought Fishful of dollars was a good episode.  Not one of my favorites, but still pretty good.

Favorite quote:

Fry: "One jillion dollars"

(crowd gasps)

Auction guy: "Sir that's not a number"

Fry: "Oh, in that case: $50 million"

Okay, some general comments, since I don't get Us CN. ::goes to the angry dome to mutters incomprehensible swearwords::

I think "A Fishfull Of Dollars" was one of the weaker seaosn 1 episodes. Some good jokes, like Baywatch, The Movie, shot entirely in slow motion, and Benders shoplifting sweater. But the episode did introduce Mom. While the sons where acceptable, I still don't like the old hag. She's just "Mr Burns light", and Burnsie didn't have to use words that would make a seacaptain blush with embarrasement, to be sinister and evil.

Still the show is only average when compared to the rest of the golden season 1. Compared to other animation shows it's pretty darn sweet (apart from Mom).

Good show, but in the lower half of season 1.

"My Three Suns"

What a great episode! This had everything... Elzar, Little Neptune, the grasshopper and the octopus... and also other things.

*minor grumble that Amy never got to go on a delivery again*

I really liked My Three Suns.  Lots of real funny moments throughout the episode.  Fry's grasshopper and the octopus story is hilarious, and I really liked the dark ending (The emperor continues to hit Fry with the chair even after he is freed from Fry's body).

I'm watching A Big Piece of Garbage right now.  I just saw one of my favorite Futurama gags, the Professor putting the timer on the bomb upside down.  Good stuff!

I've never been a big fan of "A Big Piece of Garbage." It's what Teral called 'one of the lower half of season 1'. I'm not sure why I don't like it, possibly because I didn't enjoy the source material ("Armageddon" ). I mean, it's still good...but probably my least favorite of Season 1.

"A Big Piece of Garbage" , like "A Fishful of Dollars", is a good episode, but not a favorite.  The upside down counter was a clever gag, as was renaming Uranus "Urectum" to end the joke.  I wonder if the crew will ever make a delivery there...

 I missed sunday and monday's episodes.

But I did see A Big Piece of Garbage. Funny stuff...I hate Armageddon too, so I didn't appreciate the parody too much, but it still had plenty of other stuff to keep me entertained.

All the "old" jokes are great. I laughed until my teeth fell out. Wernstrum is a good character, and come on, Ron Popeil is a sexy man.

This is the first CN rerun I've seen that didn't have that noticeable early-episode stiffness...by this point, the show is clearly moving towards the style and quality that we know and love today.

I have to say I also never really liked "A Big Piece of Garbage" when compared to other Season One eps.

"My Three Suns" is one of my favorites though, I thought this episode was great, even though it didn't do a whole lot towards the main plot.  "Well, at least my assassin gets what's coming to him." Still cracks me up.

I have to agree with Fishy Joe that it's right around this time that the show starts to come into its own.  The dialogue just seems a lot less forced.

A Fishful of Dollars is a good episode.  Some funny jokes, and I really liked Mom's character as the friendly old woman who it actually an evil hag (sort of like how I see Martha Stewart  ;) ).

My Three Suns is one of my favorite Futurama episodes ever.  Non-stop jokes and visual gags, the episode is great.  I loved how Bender tried to cook and Leela's comments.

A Big Piece of Garbage is a solid episode.  I really enjoyed how well of a parody it was of Armegeddon (a bad movie) so it was funny to see a show making fun.  Not the best, but enjoyable to rewatch.

The worst grade imaginable: A--.
Which is extraordinarily odd, because I just got an A-- on a major paper. She actually wrote A-- for the grade. What number that goes down as in the grade book I don't know.

"Hell is Other Robots" -- still my favorite of the first season. Everything clicked here...the jokes, the animation, the song (which they don't do that much anymore). A truly great episode.

BTW, was that little rap thing over the credits new? Or was that just something Fox always cut out?

Hell is other Robots aired tonight.

This episode closed season one and I found it to be absolutely terrible the first time I saw it.  I enjoyed the Robotology, Robot Devil, and some of the jokes.  But the amount of smut seemed so much higher than the average Futurama I was shocked and turned off (jacking on??!!).

But this time seeing it (the second, I purposely missed other repeats) it grew on me.  I really liked the song much better too.  My least favorite of the season, but now Mars University can be the worst of the series as opposed to Hell is Other Robots.

Yeah, FOX would just cut the end song out in order to show previews of what's next most likely.  I really liked the little Futurama rap.

BTW, anyone still have their original FOX airing of Hell is Other Robots or recall it? Because I don't remember seeing "Condemned by the Space Pope" in the title card sequence. Heck it's even removed from the DVD.

So Hell is Other Robots was on tonight.  Cartoon Network already had the edge over fox by actually advertising Futurama, but including the full credits blew fox out of the water.

Oh, I only caught like the last 5 minutes of the episode, but that's ok, because I saw the Robot Hell song, and that's the best part of the episode.

Hey Bender gonna make some noise with your hard drive scratched by the Beastie Boys.  That's whatcha whatcha get on level five.

I downloaded the Robot Hell song from CGEF, and it's by far my most listened to track on my PC! Imagine if The Devils Hands... has a Robot Devil song in it!!!

check out the new www.adultswim.com...it all explains why the site hasnt been updated for ages...

ne way its got a major overhaul wid descriptions 4 almost all characters...n even episodes! (so so much better than the Fox futurama site    :laff: )

The ep guide stops at the ends at the last episode of production season 3, 30% iron chef so must mean they have to hold them off for a while until Fox gets thru them all.

My feelings for Hell is Other Robots was similar to The Baz's in that I didn't really care for it due to its amount of "smut" as Baz put it, and the concept of Robot Hell seemed really wierd.  I didn't watch it much, if at all until I saw it on DVD and it became one of one of my favorite.  Different tastes I guess...

Also FOX DID air the "Condemned by the Space Pope"
as well as the Beastie Boys Futurama credits rap during its original airing (I have it on tape).  I don't know about repeats because I've never watched them.

A Flight to Remember was a great season opener.  A real classic episode.
