I found this on animated-movies.squareworld.com - a great site for news and info on all things animation.

"The debut of Futurama on Cartoon Network this past Sunday at 11pm fueled the three-hour (11pm-2am) Adult Swim block to ratings growth of 60% in men 18-34 (0.8) and 25% among adults 18-34 (0.5). Futurama itself increased the Sunday 11pm half-hour by 43% in men 18-34 (1.0) and 33% among adults 18-34 (0.8) according to MediaWeek."

Those are good numbers for a cable channel, and those growth percentages are wonderful by any measure.

So - if you actually promote a show then people will watch.  Interesting.

If you haven't already, send Cartoon Network an email or better yet a letter thanking them for showing Futurama and especially mention any other Adult Swim or other CN shows you have sampled or are watching due to their picking up Futurama.

Well, i might send an e-mail, but since i only have 'Freeview' the free digital TV i don't get it.

I must say those ratings are great, but what about the rest of the time? A premier will bring probably more then the subsiquent viewings.

Yes, but unfortunately, Nielsen could take a while to release those ratings.

Cartoon Network releases their ratings around the first of the month which displays ratings for shows 2 months prior. (in other words, when February starts we'll get the December ratings) So we won't find out how Futurama did until March.

Yeah it sucks.

Oh, and Adult Swim does encourage emails. All can be sent to adultswim@turner.com . Although it's much like askfox@fox.com and sends copied responses to multiple people.

(And just for the curious, CN's #1 show so far this season has been Dragon Ball Z which got a 3.2/7 rating.)

Which is rather amazing for anything on cable TV. That's about what Futurama got on FOX, isn't it?

yep.

AdultSwim@turner.com

It's Adult Swim's version of AskFOX. CN usually sends out the same response to many people, but they're pretty direct and clear with their responses.

It's on the Adult Swim Feedback and FAQ page ( http://www.adultswim.com/feedback  )

Probably when Sky and, what was the channel again, C4 says it's okay for other stations to get the rights.

I'm actually quite surprised that 2 stations in the same country has the rights. Wouldn't that piss of the station who payed big bucks for it first? Then again Sky is owned by News Corp, so C4 is probably the "syndication" holder.
