It shouldn't be. That's only done for broadcast TV syndication (when a TV series is syndicated on local TV affiliates, like The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Friends, etc. is being done now). Cartoon Network's is a non-exclusive cable syndication contract, so no editing for time is done. In fact CN only shows one ad break within a half hour show.

I actually started seeing them last week (X-Mas Eve to be exact) on a station other than CN. I must have seen the same commercial three times within a half hour. In fact, last Saturday on the side of bus I saw a poster advertising Futurama on CN so if nothing else CN is going full speed ahead with their promotion of Futurama which is great. Still on way too late for me though.   :(

a bus ad? sweet! was it a greyhound bus? just wondering because greyhound is a big advertiser on CN.

No, this was just a public transportation bus and not a commercial one.

they advertised the hell out of it during adult swim last night... just about every commercial break it played... cn promoted futurama more in an hour than fox has done in the past year or two

Wow! Advertising for Futurama! Oh i hope it does really well on CN, and then FOX will hopefully be kicking themselves. I'd be nice if the Futurama team could be re-constructed if they ever began making them again. And if they don't, a 72 episode run isn't that bad.

to be honest, i don't think it'd be THAT hard to get the writers back. writers are always looking for work in television. usually ones that purposely leave do so because of retirement, they were fired by the creator, or they quit themselves.

Most of the team broke up though, they would be in other jobs that probably have some form of contract. It's not the best thing to get a job for about 6 months and then leave agian.

But on CNX here in the UK, they make up for it by repeating EXACTLY THE SAME PROMOS in every ad break in their equivalent of Adult Swim (Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2021, etc - so the breaks are every 15 minutes) because they don't seem to have any advertisers - and sometimes, they repeat the same promos WITHIN ONE FRICKIN' BREAK!

If I see that damn two-minute trailer for "Triple! A! Movies!" one more time, there's gonna be shooting...

Ask us about the Juicy Fruit commercial sometime. For about a month, that commercial was played twice every single break.

Remember when Matt Groening said that he had plans for keeping Futurama? Moving it to CN was probably part of his plan. There's talk about new eps made for CN. And they did notice the online petition that we signed!

Woo, they're promoting Futurama HEAVILY during the Adult Swim New Years' Eve special, and Brak and Carl are showing clips every hour on the half! So far, they've shown the countdown scene from "The Series Has Landed" and the "cham-paggen" scene from "Loves' Labors Lost in Space".

Wow, a movie in a 404 page.

Anyway, when I was in the train today, I noticed a CN ad on Futurama in the ceiling where they normally put ads. This is a good change. I don't remember Fox putting up public ads and billboards on Futurama.

The AS New Year's Eve special will be rerun this Sunday at 10PM. They'll probably show the same clips, so if you missed it, here's your chance to catch it again.

They'll also be showing some great Sealab, Brak, ATHF, and Harvey Birdman episodes.

Does anyone happen to know what this movie is encoded in? I can't play it, despite having the most common codec's installed.

And the automatic upgrade thingy in WMP gets an error.

Quicktime is a great movie player!

I've also seen CN promotions for Futurama on CNN, Headline News, and CN... I've seen around 5 ads in 3 days and haven't been watching TV much!  I really am glad to see CN knows they have a great show, and the ads are great!  I hope the ratings are as good.

If it's shown at 8 P.M before Outlaw Star on CNX I'm going to dub it 'The Sci-Fi Hour'

I have said it before and I will say it again... Cartoon Network can do no wrong.

Ghost in the Shell won't be on TV for a long time. ^_^

Don't forget "Reign" as well. Which premieres in February 1 hour after Futurama.
