Are there any jokes that were laim, weren't needed, or just plain bad? Are there any jokes you think didn't work, or didn't add anything to the episode, and you wish were omited? Here's the place to say.

One of the jokes I really didn't like was from the recent episode 'Jurassic Bark'. It's when Bender tries to prove he can do all the things Seymour can do, and more, but in my opinion it just wasn't funny. I found it was wacky and pointless when he says "Plus I bet he couldn't create a laser show with his head!", and then we get a laim laser show scene.

I didn't like his 'You've got mail' joke from 'Crimes of the Hot' either, or that guy getting burned. Sure some people might find it funny, but it's showing signs of going down the Simpsons road with these kind of spare of the moment jokes. The jokes always used to be more funny, whitty, and intelligant rather than cheap laughs. There's still plenty of great humour, but unfortunately the wacky stuff is begining to creep in.

I disliked the way Bender said "I've got mail" but Nixon's message more than made up for that.

One that was a complete miss was in Luck of the Fryrish. Talking about the clover:

Leela: Maybe it disintigrated.
Fry: All the other stuff in here held up ok.
Bender: Except Sports by Hughy Louis.

I just sorta thought: yeah... and? I dunno if its my lack of pop knowledge, but it wasn't funny.

I really didn't like seeing Bender puke on command in AOI II. Looked way to South Park'ish. Maybe if they had used it after a night of heavy drinking it would've been acceptable.

I liked the laser show...

I would agree with Chump sometimes jokes can be way to obscure... but It is good if you get them (I started typing this then I realized I was a Mistie so ignore this)

If there's one thing I'm good at, it's pointing out stuff that I hate. For instance: Otis P's spelling of "lame". (oh but I kid)

The hairbot in Luck of the Fryrish makes me go "hmmm...". It's not lame enough for me to hate, really, but it's not funny and just kinda weird. It's hard to imagine someone pitching this joke to the writing staff and actually getting a laugh.

Same goes with the ape fight in Future Stock. Usually I can find humor in the absurd, but I don't know. This is another bit that just had me thinking "hmmm...".

I liked the Lincoln bot... I guess I have a real warped sence of humor, must have caught it from MST3k where the phrase "Watch out for Snakes" is always a laugh riot.

kinda weird is right but it becomes funny when the hair bot ends up in the mental home for robots brushing its hair saying "I'm a pretty girl" over and over LOL

I didnt find the Crushinatot that funny.

Also, when Bender is being too obnoxious it isnt funny. Also, the Professor being overly crazy or wacky just doesnt make me laugh.

I agree.  I remember saying on CGEF that the first part of AOI II wasn't that good, and it was mainly due to the number of "9 year olds would find them funny" jokes in it.

I have a few

In Why Must I be a Crustacean in Love, I really didn't like the premature births caused by Zoidberg going nuts during the Lamaze session.

In "A Head the Polls", the "tough love" segment.  for a joke on jacking off, it was too drawn out and misplaced for me.  Also, the whole magic tentacles thing really eludes me.  Is there something about that scene that I'm missing, or is it just futuristic craziness.

The ending joke in "Lesser of Two Evils" .  Weak and too degrading to Fry.

Patchcord Adams in "Bendin in the Wind".  Annoying

George Foreman in "Raging Bender" was pretty stupid didn't add anything to the show.

the birth scene is one of my favs in all episodes
instructor: *after babies pop out* Is there a doctor in the house?
Zoidberg: rararrrgh im a doctor *more babies come out*

and as far as the tenticle bed goes im sure its just a futuristic version of the vibrating massage beds you can find in cheap motels

Agreed. There is a point sometimes where they make Fry too Homer-stupid for his own good. I really don't think he'd be that dumb to make out with a radiator, and it's completely against logic that he would.

Also, on the same "is Fry dumb?" thought, I really didn't care much for the book-hopping during "The Day the Earth Stood Stupid". I dunno, it just seemed too forced and/or lame. And it's totally against Fry's character to start reading all of a sudden.

I'm pretty worried that apparently the first two shows of Series 4 have several obviously bad jokes in them apparently.  :hmpf:

Eh, everything has bad jokes if you look hard enough. But it's easier to point them out in more recent episodes.

Joe and Evan, you're killing me. I love it when Fry makes out with that radiator woman from that radiator planet. Yeah, maybe it IS too stupid for Fry, but the joke is funny enough to make me not care.

I also liked the George Foreman and Zoidberg/lamaze bits. I agree that the thought-activated bed thing was lame though.

The George Foreman bit was kind of a gross-out when he sucked the grease of the grill. I don't need to be reminded of this cuz I own a George Foreman grill, and already I know it drains a lot of grease.

I also hated the bit in Series Has Landed where Bender meets his high school chum in the lunar rover ride.

I thought the first segment was good but the video game one was still better, I wasn't too keen on the last one because it seemed to short to me.

From "The Route of All Evil," I thought the 'fake-apology' bit and the H.G. Blob's reaction to is was kind of lame. It's not exactly biting satirical humor to say that most apologies are phony, and the joke just seemed like a really weak cop-out.

Farnsworth: This is to Nibbler, who has gone a place I also hope to go to one day. The toilet.

another joke that kinda creeped me out was in birdbot of Ice-Catraz when Leela was about to shoot the penguins and she says "can't leave orphans, gotta kill entire families" coming from any other character it would have been fine, but to have an orphan basically say that being dead was preferable to being an orphan was kinda unsettling.

Maybee she didn't want them to have the same childhood that she had... Anyways judging by Leela's reaction it was just random rambling.

the whole zoidberg thing is just lame..

if they some how magically do get the show in to another production season... i say hermes should kill him and make a bong out of his shell..
