1st: The Bird-Bot of Ice-Katraz. Funny. Very, very funny.
2nd: Luck of the Fryish. Thoughtful and funny.

Hi everyone, I'm new here.  The main reason I joined this forum was because, while I've always been a Futurama fan, one episode made me go where several fans have gone before: this forum.  If you notice my avatar and sig, I think it's pretty obvious which episode I'm talking about.

Yup, Jurassic Bark!  Never before have I seen such raw emotion poured into 30 minutes of animation, not even in Lisa's Substitute (Simpsons).  The ending was far more powerful than many movies that attempt to pull off the same debilitating effect on their audiences (and many attempts often feel plastic or forced).  Plus, the episode had some great humor to boot ("Now commencing two-hour yipping session." "It's dolemite, baby!" )!  Definately my favorite episode...

...though I still haven't seen Luck of the Fryrish yet...

I never saw it, I think I was out for dinner the day it was on.  I know, shame on me.  Well, welcome to PEEL, TriforceBun.

Jurassic Bark is better than Luck of the Fryrish.  It's definitely the most successful episode when it comes to dealing with serious topics.  But there are funnier ones.

Well, yes, while Jurassic Bark's got some good laughs, I think the funniest episode for me was Roswell that Ends Well.  Zoidberg in particular killed me.

PRESIDENT TRUMAN: Are you here to make some sort of alien-human hybrid?
ZOIDBERG: Are you coming on to me?

And his autopsy!  Hilarious!  OK, this one's my second-favorite.

Luck Of The Fryrish is for certain genuinely touching, especially to those of us who have poor relationships with our siblings.  Whether it's the best episode of Futurama though, I don't know

Singling out one particular episode in a brilliant show like Futurama is rather difficult. The beautiful thing about Futurama is that there is something for everyone. You'll see that evidenced in the varying opinions about best episode in this thread.

I have a hard time picking between Luck of the Fryrish and Parasites Lost. The former features a beautiful story with one of the most touching endings I've ever witnessed in a TV show. While the latter combines beautiful animation, great humor and wonderful character development into one amazing episode.

For the funniest episode, it's a toss-up between Roswell That Ends Well and Farnsworth Parabox. Honorable mention goes to Amazon Women in the Mood and Problem with Popplers.

I think it's just amazing how far this show has come. It started out with a great sci-fi premise and expanded on that give us a show with both humor and emotion. It's amazing how much depth the writers have been able to give the characters. I could never have imagined that an animated show could touch me this way.

Luck Of The Fryish is better for me, but I've read it somewhere before that Jurassic Bark only worked for people with dogs. I've never had a dog so I wasn't all that moved by that episode, but Luck Of The Fryish I can't NOT cry! I just can't relate to Jurassic Bark as well I think.

I'm exactly the opposite alexvilagosh. Luck of the Fryish is a great episode and I think it is very well written. But I never even come close to getting upset or moved. I only have to think about the ending for Jurassic Bark and i'm in floods of tears! My whole family found that episode upsetting too, we're a dog family.

We're not actually dogs ourselves, we just own them. Just incase anybody miss-understood. I mean not that you would, it's pretty obvious, I.... Ok i'll shut up now.

Hm, similarly, I never really got depressed over Luck of the Fryish.  But Jurassic Park puts me to tears.  To understand Jurassic Bark, I don't think it's necessary that you be a dog lover.  But it's probably important to be an animal lover in general.  I never had a dog (although I like dogs a lot, and I really want one).  But I've had hamsters, and I know what it's like to lose a pet.

I hate animals, But I still liked Jurassic Bark.  It's just another example of the common theme that runs through the show of loneliness and alienation.

Why do you hate animals?
Do you just not like keeping them, or do you actually wish harm towards animals in general?

I myself am a big animal lover, always have been.  I have more pets than I can count and I've had even more because of some that died.  I'm sure I would've cried at the end of Jurassic Bark.  The Luck Of The Fryrish didn't make me cry, but it's touching sort of.

I actually didn't like Amazon In The Mood that much, I don't know why.  I like the jokes, the characters, still, I didn't like it that much.  Maybe the plot was too weak, but I think it was a good plot.

S2: Xmas Story
S3: Bendin' In The Wind
S4: A tie between Roswell That Ends Well and A Tale Of Two Santas
S5: I've only seen 6 season five episodes (I live in Australia), but of the ones I have seen- A Taste Of Freedom closely followed by Less Than Hero.

New format?  Well, then:
S1: I, Roommate
S2: Fry and the Slurm Factory
S3: Parasites Lost
S4: Roswell That Ends Well
S5: Jurassic Bark

How can you not really like any S5 episodes?  Three of the best episodes ever are Jurassic Bark, Less Than Hero, and Parabox.  They're all in the top, ohhh, say, 20.

My most likely season favs:
S1:Series Has Landed- really, really funny!
S2: A Flight To Remember- Zapp is hilarious and all characters are involved.
S3: Parasites Lost- touching
S4; Love And Rocket- i think you know why
S5: The Sting- hilarious and shippy- the best combo! :0

Keep in mind that I didn't really think these over, so they're likely to change.

How can you like "Leela's Homeworld"? It wasn't even funny! Although it did reveal Leela's origin, that doesn't cut it. Leela was too whiny. Anyway, enough of my bitchin'.
Season 1: A Fishful of Dollars
Season 2: Anthology of Interest I
Season 3: Insane in the Mainframe
Season 4: Godfellas
Season 5: The Why of Fry OR The Farnsworth Parabox

I found Leela's Homeworld a bore to watch.

And no I don't like those season 5 episodes, they are alright but not as good as others. Episodes such as The Sting and The Why Of Fry are interesting, but not funny.
