Is it me, or does everyone say most phrases out of The Simpsons/ Futurama at least 5 times a day, even when there is nobody else around who knows what you are talking about?
and do these people get strange looks from everyone else?

Not really, but I think "doh" has become part of our culture, everyone uses it and nobody seems to notice.

I sometimes use quotes from futurama/simpsons.None of my friends watch those shows so they give me weird looks when I do.

Georgia. When I lived in Georgia I went to Atlanta atleast once a month and went to the big mall in downtown. Here there's nothing like that and Jackson is really small compared to Atlanta.

Well, if Atlanta moved offshore and eventually sunk, I guess there would be a small notice in the newspapers... because of all the cancelled flights, of course.
So I guess the magician is still hanging around.

Starbug,

I'm in Mississippi too!  I'm in Starkville--I go to MSU.  Ha, you think there's nothing to do in Jackson!  You should try staying here for a week or two...insert crickets chirping here.(whoa, that doesn't sound right)

Anyway, there's a pretty good following for Futurama here, being a college town and all.  There's more usage of the Simpsons vernacular at this point, though.  There are lots of the ever popular d'oh's being through around.  I even over heard someone say: "you couldn't fool your mother on the foolingest day of the year if you had an electrified fooling machine."--That's one of my favs. from the Simpsons.

Well, I just found this site--it's awesome.  I came here looking for info on when the new episodes were going to start.  I'm sick of pro football hindering my enjoyment of Futurama!  Maybe we should petition for a better time slot.

Starbug,

It's about 2 hours northeast of Jackson.  It's the location of Mississippi State University.  It only has about 25,000 people, 40,000 with the university students.  It's a nice place, but notoriously short of night life--hence the nickname: Stark Vegas.  Ask around in Jackson, everyone'll know about Starkville.
