Matt knows how big this crossover is and loves both shows too much to let it be total shit...
* Inquisitor Hein raises a sceptical eyebrow...
I second the skeptical eyebrow. Matt didn't love The Simpsons enough not to let that become total shit. He didn't love Futurama enough not to let some serious errors of judgement occur in the last two seasons. I'll still be watching the crossover. I'll just be wearing the most skeptical pair of eyebrows that I have.

Frankly, I thought the clip looks great.
I mean, nothing about it was outstanding, but it looked like it could easily be taken from an episode of Futurama rather than an episode of The Simpsons (with regards to its writing rather than the animation) and if they manage to maintain that quality throughout the whole episode, it'll probably be the best episode of the show since about season 10.
Basically, I'm just going to be really, really happy if this crossover isn't downright terrible like every other episode of The Simpsons is, these days.
As for the pictures, is the episode called "The Simpso-rama", now?
Also, given how this is going to be airing during the back-end of season 7 on SkyOne in the UK, what are the odds that they'll include "Simpsorama" on the region 2 blu-rays as a special feature? Obviously, the odds are miniscule, but it'd be cool if they did.

I'm expecting nothing but a fun celebration of Futurama and The Simpsons, together at last. Not something gripping along the lines of Meanwhile or TLPJF, but something just wild and enjoyable like Parabox or Prisoner of Benda. The animation definitely looks a bit wonky in some picutres, though. I guess as long as the material itself is good it's not that big of an issue. On that note, I liked the clip! Bender saying bite my shiny metal ass immediately after being hit felt forced, but otherwise, clip looked really nice, can't wait for how they pull this episode off.
It's better forced than not at all. Basically, it's only there because he's known for saying it.

See, I'm expecting this to take the lighthearted approach you're expecting, but expecting something on par with "The Farnsworth Parabox" is setting yourself up for disappointment.
It'd be amazing if it did end up being that good (and it should be that good, frankly), but have you watched The Simpsons lately? It's atrocious.
And yeah, go easy on the animation, guys. Stills often look really wonky and nothing looked particularly bad about that clip where we actually saw things in motion. Sure, some bits were slightly off-model and what have you, but it'd be really easy to pick off-model Futurama characters out of episodes of Futurama if you sat down and started pausing the episode to look at individual stills. The clip looked like modern The Simpsons looks, that is crisp, clean and, whilst lacking the charm and character of the pre-HD days, at least looking functional.
