I know I've probably said this before but I really don't see how something from a non-canon episode can actually ruin anything. Saying the stuff with the bees in TFHS ruins them is like saying The Un-Freeze of a Lifetime ruins Space Pilot 3000.
He....raises a good point.
A tad late, but so what
Anyway, even non-canon episodes are subject to a shows continutíty.
Fry still got frozen in the 20th century, the Professor still owns a small delivery company, Omicronians are still huge frog-like creatures, etc... you get the point.
AOIs charme lies in having a defined, specific aspect of the show changed, and to witness the dynamics that changed aspect conjures up in interaction with the established universe.
Now, TFHS was no AOI. The change on the bees was unnecessary, it did not come across as a "What-if" scenario", but rather as "crapping on the established continuity". Comparable to an episode that begins with Leela having two eyes, always having had to eyes, that appearance being treated as normal, but without having the slightest plot relevance.
