Is it me, or are series finales seem to be fans' favorite episodes?  It seems like Meanwhile is going to become every Futurama fan's favorite episode because Fry and Leela finally got hitched.

Just like back during my Sonic heyday every Sonic SAT am fans' favorite episode was "The Doomsday Project".  Nobody cared about any other episode but the Doomsday episode.   Not only that, nobody cared about the episodes I liked back then like 'Sonic's Nightmare' and "Drood Henge".  Why?  Because it was the episode where Sonic finally got Robotnik, and him and Princess Sally kissed at the end.   Then it ended in a cliffhanger.  Thank heavens Futurama didn't end like that.

Will it be that way for Meanwhile?

I don't see why you're comparing Futurama to a children's Saturday morning cartoon show, which in itself was a poor excuse for a video game adaptation that largely acted as a place where the show's creators could make a show that was anything BUT about Sonic the Hedgehog.

"The Doomsday Project" is far from a great finale, and Meanwhile isn't (from what I've read online) the universal fan favorite episode. It's a great episode, but not the undisputed best episode and, again, I do not see why a comparison is being made to Sonic the Hedgehog's 90's cartoon show.

Well, my favorite episode is still Amazon Women in The Mood. Meanwhile is the second :D

I don't see why Kurt thinks every thought he has warrants its own thread. This could easily have been posted in the existing discussion thread for Meanwhile.

It's definitely one of my favorite episodes, but I don't know if I would call it my absolute favorite.

I agree....Maybe merging this with the Meanwhile thread would help.
I'm on the same boat as LMP with this episode. It'd probably be somewhere in my top 10s, but it's not my absolute favorite episode. It ended the series very well, though, as a side note.

'Doomsday Progect' was a great finale because it sucessfully wrapped up all of the Series' storylines at once. It was also a pretty dramatic episode, considering a lot was at stake during it. The cliffhanger 'Red Eyes' ending was awesome in it's own right, as well.

Also, to anyone who's confused, Kurt is comparing it to the finale of SATAM, the darker and more serious  Sonic the Hedgehog TV show, not AOSTH, the retarded, awfully bright and overall terrible Sonic show.

The reception is not even close to "best episode ever" levels.

That said, it does seem to be a popular one.

Yeah, I would concede "best finale Futurama has done," but I can't see the episode ever cracking my top 5.

The 30 Rock finale was pretty much perfect as far as comedies go.

Yeah, Meanwhile doesn't really go well with my top 5 list. Top 10 list, maybe yeah.
