Seeing as 7B is almost over, I decided to make this thread to celebrate the crappiness of this season's worst episodes.

I chose SaturGay Mourning Crap Ditch, myself. It didn't have anything laugh-out-loud funny, no really submersive stories, and overall bad writing. I will say I enjoyed the Nixon/G.I. Zapp part the most, but even that one was kind of bland. I'd say the worst part of the episode was PurpleBerry Pond. The only thing that was funny in this segment was the repetitive "I must get my hands on those Healthy Purple Berries!" and the beautiful "BORT.". It almost seemed like they were trying to parody Strawberry Shortcake too hard, to the point that it got annoying.

I will say, though, that this half season hasn't had any really bad episodes. I think it's been a pretty solid 9/10 season, even though there were some low points.

What do you all think?

Also, there better not be any votes for meanwhile before it airs. If anyone does that, I will personally come to your home and eat your cat. And If you don't have a cat, I'll eat your Mother.

I'll go with "Forty Percent Leadbelly". I just didn't like that episode.

Just so you know, you forgot to add that episode to the poll.  :)

I agree with you. Forty Percent Leadbelly was for sure my least favorite. I didn't really find it too funny.

Easily Forty Percent Leadbelly. There was nothing particularly funny in it, the plot was mostly boring and unmotivating, with the 3d printer stuff pretty underused, Fry felt unusually mean-spirited to Bender here, and the ending was just a random unfunny sell out (literally and actually).

Saturday Morning Flop Pit is easily one of the worst episodes of the series. It just fails hard in every respect.

T :The Terrestrial.  Fer sure.  It was just bad.  Not TFHS bad (nothing else is that bad), but most of it just didn't work.

I agree, T was pretty bad. I'd had like it more if it didn;t spoof ET so much.

T.: The Terrestrial. It ruined a somewhat decent idea.

I mean an ET Parody is like the last thing I'd expect seeing on Futurama.

More importantly, it just doesn't appeal. Nothing about it did.

Which episode is TFHS, again?

The Futurama Holiday Spectacular. Pretty much considered the worst episode of the series by many PEELers.

I can't choose between "Forty Percent Leadbelly", "2-D Blacktop", "Fry and Leela's Big Fling" and "Calculon 2.0" - all of which were incredibly mediocre, but none of which were offensive enough to be among the all-time worst episodes of the show's run.

Shouldn't you have waited until Meanwhile actually aired to make this? I mean, come on, it's only a week away.

Mine is easily Saturday Morning Fun Pit. That was kind of embarassing to watch. Everything else has ranged from decent to great for me.

I have no strong opinion on folk music one way or the other, not that it should factor in at all. There are plenty of good episodes on subjects I don't personally care for. But 40% Leadbelly kept me laughing pretty consistently and had a decent enough plot for it to garner a reputation beyond just "shit." At least as far as I'm concerned, anyway. It'll never be in my all-time favourites list, but it ranks fine alongside other "inconsquential Bender episodes."

Fun Pit, on the other hand, really was painful to watch. Unless I'm doing a complete-series marathon in which I watch every single episode, that's not one I can ever see myself putting on by choice again.

I honestly hate Leadbelly, and it's a strong contendor for my second least favourite episode ever.

My least favourite ever is TFHS.... 2nd least favourite is either 40% Leadbelly or Attack Of The Killer App.... not sure which. I would watch them back to back to decide, but that would kinda be like torture lol

To be honest, I found Leadbelly to be all-round mediocre; not terrible. Pretty much nothing made me want to smash my face into a pile of hot coals.

The averageness comes from extremely mild humour that pops up very infrequently. Generally I'd be much harsher toward episodes like this, but I found the plot to be quite enjoyable.

SMFP on the other hand, made me groan almost every time it attempted to make a joke. The three styles were parodied very poorly, and because the characters were loosely based on their Futurama counterparts at best, it felt like a bad fan-comic turned into an episode. There were a couple of good jokes, but these were repeated and repeated and repeated until they weren't funny anymore. Except the "I must get my hands on those healthy purple berries!" gag. That made me laugh harder each time it was repeated. :)

I need to watch "Calculon 2.0" again before I decide, but I think I'm going with "Fry and Leela's Big Fling".

I don't understand the hate "Saturday Morning Fun Pit" gets. I think that the Scooby Doo segment and the G.I. Joe one were probably the funniest thing that the show has given us in season 7. They were great.

The Purpleberry stuff was pretty poor, admittedly, but it only made up 6 minutes or so of runtime, so it's not enough to undo the other two for me.

I know, I'm just saying. I think SMFP is one of the only episodes I'm going to try not to rewatch, exept for the commentary. Maybe I'm being a tad too harsh on it, but I just didn't like it, and found it too bland.

Scooby Doo and GI Joe parodies have already been done to death (the former especially), and been done far better, too. Had Saturday Morning Fun Pit been among the first to do it, I think it would've been far more well-received.

Purpleberry Pond was the only one to make me laugh hard, purely because I loved how completely ineffective a villain the professor was.

I know it wasn't exactly treading new ground, but the vast majority of the jokes were ones I hadn't seen done before.

I loved the marks all over the animation cels. I loved Fry not knowing what age any of the characters were supposed to be. I loved that George Takei was just mentally ill. It's far from Futurama's best, but I think it's perfectly solid which is more than I can say about most of season 7.

SMFP probably would have tied with Leadbelly for me if it weren't for the G.I. Zapp segment. While the first two segments of SMFP were terrible, G.I. Zapp might have been one of my favourite moments of the season. Meanwhile, I don't think I laughed once during Leadbelly.

I know it wasn't exactly treading new ground, but the vast majority of the jokes were ones I hadn't seen done before.

The only one that was new to me was the hallway-of-doors gag, which I thought was absolutely brilliant, but that's still not enough to warrant the segment's existence.

I wouldn't mind betting the more pointless episodes like this are being particularly poorly-received right now given that there are so few episodes left. It does feel like a bit of waste of a Futurama episode to do a generic parody that could've easily worked on any other animated series. Mind you, "not taking full advantage of Futurama's setting/premise" is a pretty legitimate complaint for most of the CC run.

Mind you, "not taking full advantage of Futurama's setting/premise" is a pretty legitimate complaint for most of the CC run.

I wouldn't say that's the case for most of 7B, but it certainly was for SMFP, which is one of the reasons I hated it. The characters were barely themselves the entire way through. It literally could've been an episode of any animated show out there.

I don't understand the hate "Saturday Morning Fun Pit" gets. I think that the Scooby Doo segment and the G.I. Joe one were probably the funniest thing that the show has given us in season 7. They were great.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree there. Whilst I was admittedly amused by Nixon's incredibly lazy editing, that's really the only good thing about it for me. And the Scooby Doo segment is quite possibly least entertained I've ever been by Futurama.  :hmpf:

Yeah, I dislike this episode more than TFHS, and quite possibly Neutopia (although the latter has some of the same problems as SMFP, albeit to a smaller degree).
