I think I'd like to take the liberty of making these next 5 episode review threads!  :D

Review is coming, just let me watch it damn it! It just started!!!

Re-Review: I just watched the first act. It felt dragged out, but I enjoyed it. I didn't like the Taco Bellevue hospital scenes. The doctor bored me. And the cowboy dance club or whatever was really unnecessary. But I actually really liked the Fry/Leela shippiness. For the first time! :D It hasn't been this good in a while.

I liked the second act a bit better. It was funnier. And more interesting, on the contrary. Things still felt very bland though.

The third act was pretty good. Kept me a bit entertained.  I disliked the ending. It was pretty damn stupid.

And I'm glad the Adventure Time cameo was short. And was played out well. The one good laugh I had in the episode, in fact.

I guess I'll have to give this episode a good 7/10, but I'll just post a 6/10. Because it was just, forgettable.

The first act was decent, the second act was crap, and the third saved the episode from being complete crap. 5.5/10, rounds to 6.

Decent episode. The fairy tale parallels and jokes were a bit overdone, and the way Leela got to Mom's castle was a bit unnatural which I really didn't like. Plus I thought the Adam West and Burt Ward cameos were pretty pointless and unfunny, almost like a cameo I'd see on the Simpsons. And another thing, why did Leela get squidification anyway? Is it a regular disease, or only for mutants, which also makes me question how Munda stopped squidifying since this episode was apparently made to explain why she transformed, which it really didn't, and, ugh.

Despite what I mentioned above, it was still decent at least. The jokes in this were pretty good, especially the ones with Mom (who was the best thing about this episode by the way), along with Finn and Jakes awesome cameo, and the pacing was good enough, so at least it's not the worst of the Season, though not really great either.

Overall, it's just a forgettable episode with a somewhat great plot that was underused as hell. It had some funny lines, but could've had a lot more done and explained in it.

Overall: 7.2/10, or 7/10 for the poll.

Yeah, there was only explanation to tentacle growth in general. I guess Munda's squidification wasn't as severe as Leela's or they got it in control with her.

Actually that is pretty easy to explain.

I have Psoriasis which I inherited from my Dad.  My condition is a lot worse than his. Since my condition is worse than my Dad's it's easy to see why Leela's condition is worse than her Mom's.

This episode was actually quite good.

I feel exactly the opposite way about the fairy tale references. I thought they were actually clever and adorable, and I thought that the way it turned out to be genetic engineering instead of magic was hilarious in a vaguely dark, futuristic way. By the way- I wasn't really fond of Leela being all morally outraged about genetic modification UNTIL she was completely hypocritical about it. That was hilarious and quite in character.

I really, REALLY loved the Batman and Robin reference. It's a nod to this gag that was used all the time in the old, live-action series:

As for the squidification: they explained it's hereditary, but that does not necessarily mean that Munda actually has the disease. Perhaps she was just born with tentacles, and one or both of Leela's parents carries the gene for squidification. Anyway, if Munda's arms really ARE due to squidification, then it's possible that either she got the treatment that slows it down or maybe her case IS naturally less aggressive. In any case, I really don't think this episode has much at all to do with why Munda is why she is. Munda is not even CLOSE to the focus of this episode.

Mom was great, and I was vaguely amused by the Finn and Jake reference. However, I still laughed harder at Batman and Robin.

I really liked this episode. It wasn't ridiculously deep or profound, but it was quite entertaining and had some good one-liners and shippiness. I laughed quite often. It was suitably science fiction-y (unlike a lot of the new episodes).  8/10 from me.

Well, like "The Inhuman Torch" I found this episode to be pretty funny throughout, only this one had less of a far-fetched ending. A lot of this came in the form of visual gags, such as the porcupine pig and Fry falling down the manhole. I also thought all the fairy tale references were amusing despite not being particularly subtle.

Everything with Mom was just classic. If this is the last episode with her (which I think it is), then I think it's a great send-off (even if her final moment was less evil than normal).

I can't really think of anything to complain about here, other than the Adam West and Burt Ward cameos being a bit pointless. Really though, that's it. I really dug this one.

Favourite bits:

-Everyone suddenly pulling out cowboy hats out of nowhere

-"Let maybe a doctor take a look".

-"Isn't it bad enough that I occasionally lay an egg?"

-"You sack of bags of buckets of idiots!"

-"Now that's a pun!" *slaps*

-"That's why I called to ask you!"
"Well you didn't!"

-The Foghorn Leghorn reference from Hyperchicken cracked me up despite a very similar joke being used in "Free Will Hunting"

-"Leela's just... changed a little."
"More than a little. She's beautiful!"

-The insane hypocrisy from Leela at the end was golden.

Well, this is my favourite 7B episode so far. 9/10 is my score for now.

I liked the genetics-part more or less, fairy tale -parts: not so much, although they were well done as combined to this plot. Beginning could've been a lot better with maybe a delivery or something, I just didn't like how "presenting the problem" was done.

"I keep telling you, we didn't grow up together."
Again, perhaps, an aspect of Fry and Bender's relationship. Fry thinks they are like brothers, like they have grown up together. Or it's only a joke.

"Aha, just as I had no idea!"
"I know that, you know that, but this door looks pretty stupid."

Adventurous, diverse storyline was typical for season 7. I didn't like this so much, it felt mediocre. I think there was maybe too much action, effects of squidification should have been more in depth instead. Pretty average: 6/10.

"I keep telling you we didn't grow up together!" was definitely my favourite joke in the whole episode.

I think I liked this one a bit better than last week's episode. The whole first act had a lot of laughs, and the fairytale stuff later in the episode was cool. I really liked the shot of the castle when it started to crash, too.

Overall I'll give this an 8/10, I reckon.

I gave it a 9/10!

I thought it was fantastic, but I never give 10's.

I agree that they could have told us a little more about the squidification, but I really enjoyed the story and the crashing of the castle. I thought that looked excellent.

And of course I am very very happy to see mom and her sons this season :)

But mostly the sons

I thought it was a cute episode! No flaws as such, and even as a squidified mutant Leela still manages to look gorgeous (as far as MG cartoons go). Bender's line "I told you, we didn't grow up together" was very funny.

It sure was odd to see Bender and Jake the dog in the same place, but it was a good enough reference and fit in well :)

8/10

So do I undestand this right?
Munda used to have tentacle arms when Leela was a baby, as seen in flashbacks in season 4.

Then she was cured of the disease and had actual arms in Season 2.

And in Season 4, the disease came back and she's had tentacles since then.

Right?

A good leela centered episode in the last few seasons? They finally did it!
This episode was great! Quite some good jokes(Kinda cliché, but I tought it was really funny when fry fell down the sewer :laff:). I do think they should've lessen on the leela comments sometimes... Classic Bender moment there with Jake(...what time is it? - Time for you yo shut up!)
Definately a 9/10 for me!

The producers couldn't have timed this episode any better while talking about genetically engineered food when just this week people tried the first hamburger grown in a petri dish.
I read that in the newspaper, I hope this really does become production on a large scale (also it was a dutch experiment :evillaugh:)

I'd say about a 7.9/10 rounded to a 8/10 overall after the re-watch.
If not for the dumb start and punch out ending.. it could've been a 10/10.
I don't think mom would willing cure Leela, it felt out of character after Leela just tried to crash the skylab, as it could have easily killed Mom, her sons and all the other genetic experiments like Jake and Adam West.

But the episode did many, many things right!

I thought this was a great episode overall. The beginning was a bit boring for me but it really picked up after that. I really enjoyed Fry and Leela's relationship, and the whole genttic engineering thing was cool. Also did anyone else notice the swing scene with Fry and Leela looked very similar to that promo image (besides the characters that made up the swing).
Also I really liked how they played the whole intro and not the shortened version!
Overall, 8.5/10

A really good one! I need to watch it again if I want to give it a better review (that reminds I haven't review the other 2 episodes yet,I didn't feel like doing it) but,oh my god! This is my third favorite episode of this season and personally that it could fit in 6B (my favorite season) perfectly since you can describe it with a word(tentacles, another thing I enjoy even if sounds creppy :laff: ).

The only flaw I see,the writters keep doing Fry more stupidier in every episode ("Fry,big dummy?" o_O )but since the magic beans is something important in the plot,I'll let it pass because Leela was the star of this episode, not Fry or Bender or The Adventure Time characters (But I agree with Bender), come on! she looked AMAZING in her tentacle form, also she was totally in character, thing I haven't seen since season 4 or some 6B's episodes and even the Freela moments in this episode were so cute (the swing part, was one of the most creative and cutest things I've seen in the show)

Also amazing visuals and I was the only who  Zoidberg saying "Oh, she is beautiful" when he saw Tenta!Leela, funny?

I can't give it a perfect score but a well deserved 9(in the pool) or 9.5

This show's sense of humour is getting really surreal. Not in a particularly good way, either - more in a really stupid way.

It was far from the worst that they've done, but it did nothing to persuade me that season 7 isn't really poor.

Most of the jokes fell really flat for me.

4/10 by Futurama's standards, 7/10 by overall TV standards
