I predict it'll get postponed because FOX are showing extended coverage of Brett Favre adjusting his jockstrap.

It doesn't matter when the season starts.  As long as Futurama is in the 7:00 time slot, and as long as there is football, Futurama will be pre-empted on a regular basis.   :(

Another brilliant move by FOX.  The Redskins are on the road at Jacksonville on Nov. 10.  Kickoff is at 4:05 pm.  Guess what that means boys and girls?  That's right!  No Futurama for the Washington DC metro area.  Why do they bother?

I thought they were about to start airing it Nov.2, it would be an appropriate date if Fox will not reconsider its decisions within the end of this year    ...Let's see if the show gets some achievement at Emmys.

btw in Italy they'll start airing Season 4 for the first time, I think in late September. Still, I have no news about S2 DVD release in Italy. In Germany we know it should be avaiable by october. Also, according to Marc the staff is actually preparing the audio commentary of S3 DVDs. Do you know of many time passed between the release of S1 and S2 in Europe? I'm just wondering how it'll take for S3 to be avaiable in the European market since S2 will be released to the public.

That's right one or two (most likely preempted) episodes during football season, the rest after the Superbowl.  Let's hope this doesn't happen, but then again who the hell am I kidding.

That's when the first episode airs.  What they're not telling you is when the second episode airs... My guess is sometime in late December.

Ah, the true reason why the Borg travelled back in time. To prevent the return of Futurama.

Remind me, why did FOX postpone the premiere of Oliver Beene?

Because they actually give a damn about that show. Hey, who needs new and original when you can have The Malcolm Years?

Maybe they realized it sucked?

Hmm, and Firefly rocked. Is this a good or a bad thing, seeing as it's more or less a blatant ripoff of Futurama, with live actors?

Personally, I'm betting the premiere will be bumped/pre-empted until February, 2003.  No Olympics this year, so I'm optimistic it'll be before March.

We could get lucky.  Maybe the NFL will move their season up to early August to cover the MLB season-ending strike.  Nah.  Maybe if I weren't a Futurama fan.  But since I am, my karma has doomed us all.  (Sorry, boned us all.)

Believe it or not, it could actually be worse.  Last year, the creator of Babylon 5 prepared a new series set in that universe.  The production of the series was contingent upon the success of the pilot movie.  Because of several boneheads - the one who did it, and the others that never noticed - the pilot was aired during the Patriots-Raiders snowbowl.  This, of course, was the most-watched football game in decades.  The new Babylon series was never produced.  It died that night.

Football may have killed Futurama slowly over 4 or 5 seasons, but at least we eventually got to see it.

I agree with the hair-pulling cyclops. It's always with the football with Fox. Why would they bother announcing it when there is a near-100% chance that it won't be aired? That will just let more hopes down. What they should do is scrap the post-game recap and let the fans wait till 10 PM so they can get their football talk on.

On another note, let this be a lesson to Fox: the more you hype a show, THE LESS CHANCES IT WILL BE SUCCESSFUL! (I'm talking about The 80's Show of course.)
