But, I would like an ending with a seemingly cliffhanger.

Agreed. I believe it was either Matt or David who in a recent interview said they're gonna leave some questions unanswered just in case the show is picked up again. :D

I would love an ending as equally poignant, open-ended and all-around spine tingling as Into the Wild Green Yonder. Still my favourite ending out of all the potential finales. :)

Second. It was a great feeling watching the end of that movie for the first time, even if it was "the end" (at the time). :)

I don't know if anybody has mentioned this yet, as I haven't stayed too up-to-date with this thread, but t appears that Comedy Central will be airing every episode of this season before meanwhile, only interupped at one point by tosh.o and some other crap. Then, after Meanwhile airs, they will be showng Space Pilot 3000.

I think it's awesome that they're doing that, as it gives us time to prepare for the epic finale, while being nostalgic about the show. It's also a cool idead for them to air SP3000 after the Finale, as it would also remind us all of when we first watched futurama.

Third. It was just so epic, and made me wish there waas more too see after; luckily, there was thank to CC. Hopefully, Meanwhile can beat out this ending somehow! :)

I doubt anything could top the ending of Devil's Hands. The unique way of mixing the crude drawings and music with such an emotional moment, worked beautifully and was pretty much perfect. I also adore the open-endedness of the scene, allowing the viewers to imagine what happens next (I know ItWGY did something similar, but I just prefer the former a lot more).

For anyone who didn't notice in the clip, we now know the building Fry is jumping from is the Vampire State Building.

So, apparently Billy West claims that Matt Groening told him that Futurama isn't over quite yet.

Here's a link to the Billy West quote.

This is fantastic news.

This belongs to news thread.

Intriguing, that doesn't necessarily mean there is going to be more, but it's nice to see they're really trying and even positive about it.

^This.
"We're talking to everybody. We're going to do more".
It could just be an optimism display by Matt, who assumes that one of the many negotiations will be successful.

About the optimistic side:
I consider Billy West's voice the most important "ressource" to be secured for the new show. If they have to slip some insider information in order to ensure an important someone's later availability, West is the most likely candidate.

Yeah, West is the number one asset to the show, IMO.

Also, it does sound like Matt's just being optimistic. If he knew the fate of the show, then I seriously doubt he'd just sit there and watch the people he's been working with all these years just pack up and find new jobs.

Hmmm, he wasn't as optimistic when the show got cancelled in the Fox run. I think even if the show is done for good, he's never gonna run out of work.

Also, I assume he earned enough with Simpsons for an early retirement ;)

It's 80% likely to be back. Not a 100% likely, but really likely. Maybe not on Comedy Central, but still could be back somewhere. Stuff like this with Billy West has happened in the past, and he revealed the Second Run's info in the past as well.

Right, but I mean, is there any proof? He said its likely to be picked up, but that might have just been his opinion.

(edit)

Just read the interview. That's sweet! MG said there's gonna be more, but he didn't say when or where.

I have a weird feeling that we're going to be hearing some good news after the finale. Possibly even at the after the finale show with Chris Hardwick.

I know it isn't exactly known to be back yet. But it has a super-high chance of being back. Just on a different source, and not CC anymore that's all.

I wouldn't be surprised if it does come back.

Slaps pumpkinpie. You should know this!

It's a Futurama Live event on the CC website (I think), and it takes place a half hour before "Meanwhile" airs, and has Matt Groening, David Cohen, and most of the show's voice actors there to answer questions and take Art like in the last Futurama Live. Then after "Meanwhile" airs, it has the show's writer's opinion on Meanwhile and stuff like that.

They may mention something Kataang, they just might mention something.

I hope however they come back, they have more time to make episodes, and less episodes to make.

I think that is one of the main things that made the quality suffer so much! (Other than the reduced budget, reduced writing staff, no orchestra, etc).
