And that sounds something 4 years ago -me would be very thrilled about.

Have a couple of new screenshots from "Leela and the Genestalk": 1, 2. Also, there is a new one from "Stench and Stenchibility".

Uh oh. i have a bad feeling about Adam West and Burt Ward's cameos. But I think it might actually turn out to be a pretty good episode. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a really boring and unfunny ep. I hope not though.  :D

I'm actually feeling pretty optimistic about "Leela and the Genestalk." I'm looking forward to seeing some more of Mom, and the premise sounds intriguing, though I'm not sure about the line-dancing.

Also, this might be a stupid question, but has the girl in the photo with Bender been on before? She looks very familiar to me, but I can't recall which episode she may be from.

Yep, looks promising.
So far, season 7B still often had the whiny/passive Fry (don't know why the writers are so keen on that interpretation, tbh. It does imHO not really work well...).
They still owe us an episode where he gets his ass up and gets things done.
Judging from the clip, that could be such an episode.

7a was, for better or worse, a running joke of a season. Leela's advances getting turned down, too many 40% whatever jokes, etc. 7b seems more reminiscent of season 6, with a more hit and miss style.

I think Season 7A was the kinda season the writers have been dying to do. Not plotwise, but jokes/gag wise.

They probably decided to do it since they were on Comedy Central, who doesn't give them much restrictions, and knew it was a better chance than any to do it.

But this was all mostly the ending half of Season 7A. Maybe even a little of that was carried onto the beginning 7B too, production order wise. It seems to have kinda faded away, since Fry and Leela's Big Fling.

*Edit* Does anybody realize that on CGEF, the only episodes that are the most reviewed of this season are the bad ones. Like Forty Percent Leadbelly has a 46% with 94 reviews, while a good episode like "The Inhuman Torch" has a 80% with only 45 reviews.

Is it possible that the New Futurama may have a bunch of Trollers lurking upon that website, waiting for the perfect chance to completely shit on a episode??

Just watched the clip from next week's ep, looks like a good one. For some reason, I find it really cute that Fry's so determined to get her that surgery. Well, I am a shipper.

Not really. It's pretty normal for people to want to project their opinion if they feel strongly about it, positive or negative.  Notice how TLPJF has more reviews than any other episode from the new run.

Judging by some comments at CGEF, some "inappropriate" reviews got deleted there. I think that's why "Forty Percent Leadbelly" has 46% rating. Previously it was below 40%.

I guess you're kinda right there.

It does seem like there are a good number of people just waiting to shit on one though. It's happened last year. I saw like the same 5 people that kept giving every episode a 1 or 2 star.

Also people enjoy bashing entertainment things more than giving them kudos when well earned.

So yes, haters love to hate.

I'm inclined to agree, though that clip itself was pretty funny (I particularly enjoyed Leela saying that her be-tentacled state was one of the few problems magic couldn't solve). I tend to be kinder to Leela-centric episodes than most other people, and I'm also a fan of anything even tangentially involving Morris and Munda and Leela's mutant pedigree, so I'm holding out hope that this will be a good episode--craziness of its premise notwithstanding.

Does anybody else think that the scene with the plant growing may have been influenced off of the AMC Theaters Magical Chairs Ad that you always see before the movie? I mean the plant growing, and music just yells it in my head.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, click here and then you'll know:

So a petition to save Futurama that I signed a while ago ended recently, and they sent me an email about it, so... I'll just leave this here.

Quote from: ThePetitionSite
Dear user,

On May  1, 2013, you signed the petition, Save Futurama-Again. The petition author, Gordon Yarley, has now closed the petition and sent this message to all its signers:

---------------------------------

Thank you for signing this petition.  We received 26,355 signatures to Save Futurama Again.  This petition is now closed.  Keep writing and letting them know how much you love the show.

I also saw this in Facebook:

Quote from: Gordon Yarley
So I am leaving the petition live until I can figure out how on earth I can print it out and deliver it (EEK) to Comedy Central, Fox, TBS, Netflix.. That's over 26,000 signatures, four times. I may need to do a kickstarter... The producer said it would be more effective to mail in the petition than to email it. As horrible as it would be to kill all those trees, sadly the television industry is still in the 1900s... So keep watching, sharing and writing REAL letters. If anyone has any idea of how to help I'm all ears.

I like how they're still calling the ship Bessie, nice callback to "2-D Blacktop". Dunno about the scene with the salesman and the magic beans though, something felt kind of off... :hmpf:

Indeed. He looked like coming directly from the fairy tale, instead of something futuristic that happens to bear a similarity to said fairy tale character.

Obviously the guy was trying to scam Fry. Farnsworth even said Magic Beans don't exist.

It was probably some kind of mutated bean from the sewers or another planet.

It's not so much the beans I have a problem with (they will most likely have a scientific explanation behind them), but it's what Hein picked up on, it just didn't feel very future-y.

They mentioned the beans falling from the sky. My first thought was that they fell from Mom's Genetic Experiments "Cloud Castle." Genetically altered giant beans.
