He looks like a douche. :p I can already tell he and Fry won't get along. That is, if they meet.

Strange. An inscription on the picture reads "716"... However Eric's "Fry and Leela's Big Fling" has got 7ACV17 production number.

So THAT'S what he looks like......I always thought he had a muscular figure. (Not to be gay or anything).

He doesn't look hunched. (Though Leela's description could be a bit subjective, and tending for the worse after the breakup).

Also, the muscular figure is a bit surprising. After all, that appearance requires some workout, which does not go well with "lazy, unambitious" (okay, I guess that a behaviour as e.g. hanging round in the gym, playing music and not doing anything else might still be called that way).

Or Sean might have changed between the "mutual" breakup and FaLBF.
Being a loser (as decribed by Leela) during the breakup , but having gotten his act together since then. Leela now regretting that loss even more ( much to Fry's annoyance) could be a valid plot device.
Though those contemplation are a tad far fetched by now, I have to admit.

Fry and Sean in this pic are also a good example how Groening style has changed over the years.
Though both are done Groening style (obviously), Fry sports a crude, primitive look. While Sean's appreance went much more the direction of a real human being:
The curls/hairstyle is much finer, his eyes are closer to a real human than Fry's, smaller details are incorporated (e.g. necklace), etc..

Well, the episode title ("Fry and Leela's Big Fling") suggests that "Big Fling" would be mutual. So it's up to Fry to meet some ex-girlfriend, too :D.

Sarah Silvermans scheduled to guest star this Season, so maybe she appears this episode and we get ye ol '' couple meets each others exes'' type plot.

Possibly "Fry and Leela's Big Fling" will explain their mutual slaps in 6ACV25. I'm not a big fan of such a scenario though.

When Fry was designed, maybe there was more effort to make Fry simpler as it was with the Simpsons characters (make them easier to recognise).

I believe they came right out and said that was true, QNF. I believe Cohen said they made Fry look like that so he'd be easy to recognize in profile (same deal with Leela).

I'm looking forward to seeing Sean, though. With his appearance, I can easily imagine him as an unambitious gym-rat; he looks pretty out of it in that image, too. I'm hoping they don't have Leela waver in her relationship with Fry, however. I'd be really annoyed if FALBF has her contemplating going back to a relationship with Sean.

Indeed. The poor guy was just designed. He cannot have commited a crime serious enough to deserve such a fate... :p

But on a more serious note: The contemplation of going back to Sean does not have to fail per se. "Making a mistake, seeing it and getting the lesson learned/comeupance" is a common sitcom (sub)plot device. Endangering ones relationship is one of the most common mistakes.

Let us take "Overclockwise" for example: When Leela suffered from an early-life crisis, most folks on Peel did indeed consider Leela questioning her job/relationship/etc. a credible motive. The missing "comeupance" was rather seen as the episode's flaw: Leela just walzed off, to randomly return at the end, picking her old life up as if nothing happened (taking for granted Fry and Farnsworth would take her back, etc...).

So, Leela "contemplating going back to Sean"..nothing wrong with that.
It would just have to feature more of a conflict, instead of Leela deliberately walzing off to Sean, and -when grown tired of it- going back to Fry (who will take her back without questions asked as if nothing happened).

I must agree!

I have a feeling 2D-Blacktop is gonna suck some major circles (Please excuse my corny two dimensional joke). I hate Michael Rowe and most of his episodes suck. I hope I'm surprised and it doesn't end up being another "Butterjunk Effect".

I remember something about "Romantic holiday gone wrong", so it's rather improbable they will make a delivery or work otherwise for PE.

Yep, seems that way.
I jokingly once mentioned on Peel they should make Guenther head of the delivery crew in one episode.
I'd be laughing my (also impressive, though not blue) ass off should he be captain of the PE ship in that episode. Please, forecast, come true....:)
