I'm PUMPED for the new season! It'll be a much welcome distraction by the time it comes around - I'm starting university for the first time on Monday. And I'm wearing my denim jacket with the Planet Express badge on it :P

There was not one thing I didn't like about that preview, this is going to be a great half season, and while that's said before every season, this one feels promising.

Edit: I'm on the fence about Seymour's return. It had better be for a good story.

I can't say I agree, there. It looked like some of their sloppiest animation to date, to me.

For me it looked fluid and definatley smoother. Also the 3D looked like it fit more, except for a few points.

I loved the trailer! I'm looking forward to it and I'm glad they're bringing back Calculon (I figured there was a purpose for having him die). I look forward to The Thing episode because that's something I'm surprised Futurama hasn't touched on actually. And I feel the shippy inside of me tingling!

PS: Nibbler as a Dalmatian. For some reason that speaks to me.

The CGI definitely looks a lot better and fluid in shots like the street race scene and more used this Season which is good. For some reason the opening clip with the 3D P.E.S. looked really off and video game like, but that might just be me.

For the regular 2D animation, it looks pretty good and solid most of the time, but there was a lot of off angles in the trailer that just bugged me. Bender at times looked squishy and roundish and Fry has a lot of off shots when he opens his mouth when he screams. The lighting's pretty good for the most part and the detail in the background's awesome, especially in that last shot with Fry falling.

I'm pretty much going to blame a lot of the errors on the low budget, but it still looks pretty nice and a lot better than most other animated show's today.

Holy crap. That trailer for Futurama 7B looks friggin epic! :D
Can't wait for it to come out now (Or be leaked on a torrent website?.. :evillaugh:)

But just as I was about to post a suggestion for a new episode, I saw that. :(
Ah well, who ever said it wasn't legal either way? Now, as random as I can be, as random as we can all be, I thought that they could make maybe a random episode, where Professor Farnsworth comes out randomly and says, "Random news everyone! You'll be delivering a random package to the random planet of Random-9, in the Random system!"
The crew retaliate, "Professor, when will you ever stop being so random?"
Bender agrees by making one of his random jokes.
"Never!" says the professor. "I'm as random as I've ever been, and I like it, dammit! Now randomly get that package to it's destination like you've never randomly done so before!"
The crew randomly flies off to deliver the package.

Now that's all I thought of, but you can see where it's headed. They head to the random planet, where random things happen all the time. And yeah... Just a thought. But I guess it's too late now, as the trailer was already released. 3:

Well let me know what you guys think, at least. It might not be very appealing to some of you, but it certainly is random to me. Random!

I know. I just got a random idea in my head and thought it would be random to post it. I'm not saying anyone would like it. It ain't very original, but I reckon it would give it a bit more of a, oh I don't know, twist? I mean, it would give it a Family Guy style, is what I'm saying, if you know what I mean.

Well, Family Guy is random due to it's cutaways. But that's a different story and a different comedic style. Futurama's got class, unlike Family Guy. And that's why it's less popular!

Family guy is the most horrible show pf all time. The lack of Quality humor and story lines enoy me most, more futurama less jech!

Somthing professor story is somewhat funny, tough something that you should lessen is the amount of something in the something story f rhe something solarsystem on some planet... The professor's never been so somethin-ish. Tough I like your concept and I've never heard such a thing before:)

No, no... it's not the most horrible show of all time. If you call it that, then I guess you haven't heard of way worse like Full English or The Cleveland Show.

Full English no. But the cleveland show is kind of an offspring of FG, so I rate them the same: A zero

Family Guy was a great show in its prime, but it's quality has seriously declined over the past few years.  I watch it out of habit, if anything.    Something similar is happening with American Dad, but it's still by far the funniest SethMcFarlane show.

I think of them this way:

Family Guy: The slutty sister who gets all the attention whether she deserves it or not.  She usually doesn't.
American Dad: The middle sister who never gets any of the attention she deserves.
Cleveland Show: The sister who should have been strangled at birth.

For some reason tentacled Leela reminds me of the Birth of Venus.

Hum? Those descriptions sound a bit off. Family Guy has Meg, the middle sister who is ugly (red cap and glasses) and the family takes turns trashing her, to put it mildly. No middle sister in American Dad. Just Haley the older sister (black hair and green head band) and her brother Steve. Haley had a twin named Bailey that died as an infant because Stan was too cheap to get immunization shots for them.
Never watch the Cleveland show.

The past few years those shows seem to crank out a pretty good episode about once every 6 episodes. I think some would make the same point for Futurama.

I guess the poses are just somewhat similar but I doubt its intentional.  They usually make shout outs like that more obvious, right?

I'm not talking about the characters on the shows, it's a metaphor for the show themselves *jazz hands*

About Futurama's "Class" vs Family Guy's "Randomness":

Futurama's sci fi setting grants much greater freedom when it comes to "random jokes". E.g. "Time keeps in slipping" is considered some of the best episodes.
The Harlem Globetrotters turned out to be the greatest scientific minds of the universe: If that ain't a completely random joke, I do not know what is.
Not to get me wrong: I do love that episode, and considered the Harlem Globetrotters one brillant idea.
Yet, I cannot grant that idea "class" and criticise other series on grounds of "randomness being a bad thing".

Randomness is generally fairly absurd, but absurdity and randomness aren't (inherently) the same thing.

The Harlem Globetrotters thing is absurism that's built up throughout the episode (and since then whenever they've called back to it). It's bizarre, but sort of fits logically within the show's universe, and creates a bunch of running jokes that build on each other. As well, while there are plenty of standalone "random" jokes in Futurama, they typically have real punchlines and aren't just "random for the sake of random" in the way Family Guy typically is. And they usually come at least somewhat out of the plot surrounding them.

Family Guy being called the "worst show evar!!!!1" is pretty hyperbolic. It's not even the worst show on TV today by any means, let alone of all time. That said, it's pretty bad. Even the early seasons.

The Globetrotters usually serve a mathematical purpose, ad that's obe of the things I like in futurama! The fact that ot's humurous but still serves a pupose in learning
