I don't know why that would be a secret, toast is toast.
What's special about March 28th?
The way CC crams ads into the show it could be renewed but those episodes will be down to 15 minutes per episode.

"@DannyJC13 it is not in production. An official announcement of the show's future will be happening very soon."
As I wrote here to pre-emptive any article discussing this on the Infosphere, it is rather unusual to announce the cancellation of a show. In fact, when a show is cancelled, show runners are usually free to speak out about it. Like when Futurama itself was cancelled originally. Maybe they've just sacked Rough Draft Studios and found another studio? Would seem mean. Maybe a feature film is coming instead? I don't know why I would want that, but all right. You don't send out an announcement to announce nothing (which a cancellation amounts to).

Another movie would be awsome! Perhaps they'll make it in 3d or something(can cartoons be in 3d actually?) We'll find out soon enough if Futurama gets cancelled...

It's usually a 3D for the background (ships, buildings, etc...), with drawn characters. Titan A.E. or Sinbad are good examples how this can work. Doing the characters themselves in 3D would change their appearance too much.

I'd love to see a movie featuring fry leela and bender as well as fry and leela's kid whom got kidnapped by lrrr. Something like that Hmm.. Can't remember much of the simpsons movie, that must have been over 6 years ago when I watched it The only plot of the futurama movies I didn't like was The beast with a billion Backs, Sick and creepy(still fun...)

So IF the show gets cancelled, does that mean that the rest of the seasons won't come out on dvd? We still haven't got the sixth season over here in Europe, you know.

Nope, the cancellation just means no more seasons will be produced for TV.

I have to agree with the notion that it'd be very strange if they had to wait for an official announcement about the show ending. Shows are very rarely officially cancelled; they usually just aren't renewed - as the show was, the first time, back after season 4. That is, in effect, a cancellation.
That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Futurama doesn't get an 8th season. 7A was easily the weakest batch of episodes to date and the show's ratings weren't exactly spectacular for those 13 episodes, too. There's definitely a market for new Futurama, but TV corporate types often don't think that broadly.
And, to be honest, I don't really care if that is the end. The show is in a pretty solid decline and I don't want it to get any worse than it was in 7A, where it was still good television. I also don't care about it as drastically as I once did. The overarching stories and things are more or less done and dusted. There aren't any plans of where to take the show planned from before the show started like there were initially (Leela's parents, Fry having gone back in time to freeze himself, etc). The show sort of feels like it's just coasting now.
We have over 100 episodes of the show now. I've got enough of it to live with.
Plus, this is exactly the sort of incentive the guys making it need to get a feature film off the ground. And I would LOVE to see the show go out with the bang of a feature film. Don't judge the potential of a film on the straight to video films they made, because those were produced as 4 episodes a piece. Of course their structure was messy and they didn't feel as huge in scope. A real, theatrical film would be a different beast, altogether, and I'm sure they'd do a good job with it.
I was going to start a thread on here about the potential for Kickstarter playing into the show's future after the Veronica Mars movie got the greenlight, but I never got round to it. That's a pretty viable final chance to get the show a finale. It costs them, what? About 5 million dollars an episode if I recall? So, in theory, they could make a film for about 20 million - although, I'd rather they spend more money on it than just what they'd spend on 4 episodes, so we get some higher quality animation and so forth. Still, I think $20 million could be raised on Kickstarter - or, at least, enough of a chunk to convince Fox to put some money into things, but that's not taking into account the fees of Kickstarter and taxes and the money it'd cost to ship rewards to people and so forth.
But, yeah... those are my ramblings and we'll see.

We still have the whole "The Other" thing to reveal, possibly coming in 7B since we're getting a Nibblonian episode.

Good God, I hope they haven't forgotten that. The way DXC was so candid about taking an easier route with the newer episodes.. I am fearful thats the case. Danny please tweet Eric Rogers and tell him most fans are still waiting for that, and remind him what exactly were talking about. It's pretty much the last 'big important secret' plot point they need to do something with or I'll be sad as f#ck. Why is Leela the other, what is Fry and Leela's ultimate universe shattering destiny Nibbler hinted at? Tweet Eric Rogers and tell him not to forget, to remind DXC as well; that most fans still want this resolved, and that's a great idea for the finale or movie. Maybe Fry and Leela have a kid, and that kid has to save reality itself, and that's why they both have the greatest cosmic destinys of all time; and why Futurama is the best show ever.

Maybe we should wait for the episode to air first? If the 7B Nibblonian episode isn't about Leela and her being "The Other", remind me to tweet Eric and we'll see what happens.

People at NoHomers are calling total BS... I just don't know. Anyone agree.. that it's probably for the best. Too much of a good thing is always a bad thing. SIMPSONS, I'm looking at you! Although I think a final 8th production season of 13 or 26 more eps, with the knowledge prior that this is the end, would have been keen! Welp, let's get on Kickstarter and get a movie for cinemas going like VM did. I think $25-35 million would be a good goal to get the movie made... the right way.
