It's also heavily suggested that the mushroom dog and Cobb are the same creature. One half is the ego and the other the id, connected via quantum entanglement. I'd also wager that he's the one doing the soul-sucking. Also, apparently the robot revolt that Bender leads will end up killing all humans in the future unless Nixon loses the election.  Does this mean the status quo might be shaken? Also, Calculon has a running story arc throughout both halves of the season. Interesting stuff!

I don't think the plot to Yo Leela Leela is boring. Execution sucks though.
^This. It had very typical Futurama plot devices..it was just told as a story about a children TV series, instead of a story ABOUT THE PEOPLE producing said series.
