I wonder what it handles like...
From the look of it and piloted by Zapp Branigan: Probably like a Mexican Restaurant Also, congratulations Inquisitor Hein on becoming a Professor.
Thanks:) Unfortunately, that post was an accident, for I wanted Post Nr. 1000 to be a newly finished cartoon. Well..maybe the next rank...

I really hope Decision 3012 doesn't go the way of The Simpsons where the entire episode is based on current events. A little, of course, but not the whole thing.

There have been times in the past where an episode sounds like it's going to be all "present-y" rather than futuristic, but turns out to have more sci-fi that expected. A recent example would be Law and Oracle, which appeared to be nothing more than a lame "protagonist gets a new boring job to replace his old boring job" story. It turned out to have this crazy robot that predicts the future for the police.
Futurama works imhO best when staying rather close to the original, in that case "minority report". Some traditional sci-fi storytelling aspects might be considered cliche-ridden, but there is a reason certain plots became a cliche/popular in the first place at all. ImhO, the 4 Futurama movies suffered from "Trying to re-invent the wheel again", and did not really work too well. Mel Brooks and MacFarlane had imhO a much better hand with "Spaceballs"/"Blue Harvest", knowing when it's time to spoof, and when it's time to bow your head to an unchanged classic. Futurama has usually the more intelligent humor, but sometimes suffers from "changing too much".

Yep, I did get your point. I just felt the need to add that LaO did not only work because of being sci-fi-y, but also because of the mentioned "sticking close enough to the original"

*deleted my post! let's try this again...* Well if they start mentioning "Nixoncare"...
Obamacare was already mentioned in 'Ghost in the Machines'.
Yeah...so let's not do it again! Jeez... Remember A Head in The Polls? That episode was done well with just but a few albeit dated references (like Watergate), but those are more historical than current trending news. It is one of those episodes where anyone can watch it years later and not have to *live in the time the episode was made* to find it funny. That episode from what I recall had more generalized humor, whereas based on direction in last seasons I am worried that they might be inclined to throw in current events pop culture references that do not have a long shelf life Trust me, my first post was a lot better than this! But anyways, we'll see...hopefully I am wrong!
