As I did last year, I've decided to not really look at any spoilers/reviews/previews so I can go into this without any particular expectations.

As long as it's better than last season I'll be happy. And it seems there might be some good shippy episodes  :D
I'm just hoping they realize the mistakes they made with these past two seasons and get back into the "Old Futurama" feel.

I know what they should do...

But of course, I'm always up for more Fry and Leela love making.

Wait, so Fry breaks his leg in the first episode and Leela breaks hers in the second?

Clearly this means that Bender breaks his in the third.

They pretty much already did that in Prisoner of Benda. Sure, they weren't in their own bodies...but I'd like to think they went home after the end of the episode and tried it again. ;)

Yeah, as much as we'd like to think, it doesn't exist unless it's on/mentioned in an episode. Plus, the commentary in the Prisoner of Benda (while funny) was patronizing Freela shippers over that scene. :hmpf: I reckon the writers are going to explore every other combination of ship possible before we get satisfactory Fry/Leela snoo-snoo.

cyber_turnip; or they could have a surprising twist and Bender doesn't break his leg  :shifty:

I'm guessing the awkwardness is because of the end of the world. Seriously, what would you say/do?

The scene layout implies that they do not look at anything specific (with Leela looking down and Fry looking up), but just try to avoid eye contact.  So, an embarassing thing between these characters seems the most plausible explanation.

(Your just that awkward silence, when no one really knows what to say)

I'm a little tired of BTATB info now to be honest. We've seen a decent amount of stuff for the episode, so it's about time we got some material related to another episode.

Really? I haven't seen anything about this episode yet. :p

*edit*

Today's thingy on the Countdown, a video clip from 'A Farewell to Arms', which sadly I cannot view, being in the UK and all...

The clip is called 'The World Is Ending Again'.

So what if the "world" is ending in Futurama? I mean don't Humans live on more than one planet in Futurama anyway; like Mars, Doohan 6, and possibly many others that haven't been mentioned in the show. Sometimes, I think they forget they have an intergalactic civilization in Futurama. Sure it might have a psychological effect on the Human race from losing their home world, but it wouldn't be the end of them.

The fate of the universe is a far more serious issue than Earth's doom in Futurama. Since there's only a near infinite number of planets Humans could colonize in the universe.

Edit:
And we seen in The Late Philip J. Fry the world did not end at this point in time. Unless, due to changing history, this may have happened.

I was thinking that too, this ep seems really pointless if Fry, Bender and the Professor know the Universe/World will end in the super distant future.

Unless they go around trying to convince people it's not, similar to IAGDL.

Yeah, it does seem quite pointless. Since Fry, Farnsworth, and Bender saw the Earth still existed far beyond this so called dooms day date.

Yes, the world will end, but not really all life will end at some time, as for the world's real end it's when the sun becomes a big massive red giant (at this point the Earth is a lifeless desert on the way to having an ocean of lava covering the whole entire planet) and swallows Earth becoming part of the sun as if the Earth had never been, that or Earth drifts off into open space remaining a baron icy rock.

But at the end of the episode, everything goes back to normal. XD

ehm...it isnīt pointless, because it is the future with Fry, Bender and Professor. In "The late Philip J. Fry" we actually see an alternate future. Perhaps they (or one of them) make/s something, which causes the end of the world?

You can't view just because you're in the UK? That's messed up. Also, why not the UK when it can be viewed here in Oz?

Also I love how everyone stabs at what they think is a plot hole. There is one difference in this universe:
Quote from: Farnsworth
Just slow it down, I'll shoot Hitler out the window. Darn! I shot Eleanor Roosevelt by mistake.

So really they've got room to move and point the reasoning to that one moment - also the fact that Fry, Bender and Farnsworth would not be in the universe 1 (and consequently 2 (and if you're following the pattern; 5,6,9,10,13,etc)) so it could have something to do with the fact that they're there.

Also, love the new clip, 'Sharksplosions'  :laff: There seems to be increasingly more internet jokes >< "some of us were crazy before it was cool" Not sure if that's a good thing or it'll get old fast. (pun not intended).

I'm sorry, but why has this not been pointed out yet: Frys pants exploding? Now that's something I'm curious about - also in relation to the fact he seems unharmed.

Also still curious about as to how Leela broke her leg.

Also, it's not good forum etiquette to use post count as a dick measuring contest.  Just sayin.   :nono:

I am not sure wether we are really going to see a PE prom:
The photo might have been taken before said episode, and serves just as an accesory in a scene (with the characters remembering the prom, but without showing it).

Normally, they just show single character designs (e.g "Leela in her PR prom dress" would be expected).
That this design explicitely refers to a photo looks a bit suspicious...
(Of course, they might have deliberately chosen that photo, for good previews always have to be a bit misleading...;) )

It could also be similar to Fear of a Bot Planet where they use a series of photos as the outro to the episode and we don't really see the events like you said.
