Yes, we all know, Sir Spamalot.
Your just one rude little dude. The Real Solid Gold Bender would never approve.

Why be all negative? Just don't say anything at all. Also, here's the preview clip for TBATB for non-Americans!

As previously predicted, the countdown did indeed start off today, with a clip from "The Bots and the Bees". It's basically the finalized, color version of the preview from the Volume 6 disc, but still interesting to see nonetheless. I liked it. Not much going on there, content-wise, but I don't mean that as criticism. It was a cute clip, and though I'm a little leery of the Bender-sires-a-son concept, I'm willing to keep an open mind. In any event, I'm glad the Countdown has finally begun--though I feel like the wait for 7A has not been nearly as grueling as the wait for 6B was, for some reason.

Ben will rise.. June 20th.
LOL, seriously a new DKR trailer and a semi-new Futurama trailer in the same day... awesome!

But Bender already has another son remember? He gave it to the Robot Devil.

Oh, I remember. It should go without saying that I wasn't too fond of the idea the first time around, either.
What I enjoyed about the first time around was the fact that such a major part of Bender's life was used as a throw-away joke. That's hilarious, if only on a meta-level.

That's precisely what pissed me off about it, actually. I'm fine with the writers carelessly messing with the established back stories of tertiary characters--but to do that with a main character like Bender, for the sake of a throwaway gag of dubious quality, is a little unacceptable. I'm not saying that the joke was awful, or that it ruined TBWaBB for me or anything...but still. I'm with Spacedal: It was a really dark moment that, funny or not, didn't need to be there to move the plot forward. I'm sure the Robot Devil could have taken something else from Bender; it didn't have to be his never-before-seen-or-even-alluded-to son. And yes, I get that part of the gag's supposed humor comes from the fact that it's so random. But it just doesn't work for me, 'cause I'm no fun and do not understand comedy. Or something.

Clearly. What you listed are reasons I love the joke, though. I think doing a throw-away joke involving a major part in one's life to a major character like Bender made it even funnier. And it being really dark was all the more amusing.
And I sincerely doubt - and hope not - that we are going to see this son again. Because that might suggest that it was actually Bender's son, and not just a throw-away gag.

If there's one thing Futurama knows how to do, it's a good montage. The animation and music look and sound as good as ever! All the effort they put into it shows. Although, I don't get the 'Second Floor Bank of NNY' joke. Is it just supposed to be weird, and therefore funny? Someone please explain
