Couldn't find a thread for this episode, so I made one.

This is an interesting episode for a couple of reasons. First of all, it hardly ever gets brought up, and I often forget of it's existence.

This leads me to my second point. I think Fear of A Bot Planet is dreadfully boring; with a slow pace, bland design, and not enough jokes to keep me entertained the entire time.

It's a prime example of one issue I have with Season 1 in general, that being that it's often way too quiet, and a little bit of background noise or music would improve the scene significantly.

This episode isn't horrible, but it's not a favourite of mine.

I predict a major backlash against your review.

Personally, I like the episode. It's not a stand-out episode or anything, but it's very "solid". I can't really fault it.

I agree with your "too quiet" complaint though, I'd say that's true for most of the early episodes and I put it down to them probably having less time to work on the sound mix as well as getting used to how they were going to do things.

I'm sure there'll be backlash... but I don't care. I'm being honest here.

I for one respect your opinion. You backed it up reasonably well, after-all.

How dare you!...

Personally I love this ep, it's one of those eps which helped me fall in love with the show. I love the whole concept of it, the robot planet is so cold and sterile, juts how you'd imagine it to be. The robots themselves are really funny given that they're essentially, well, robots... It really made you look at things from a robots perspective!...

The episode had loads of funny moments. The 3D not working for Leela, Fry leaking "coolant" at an alarmingly fast rate, the brilliant Tetris joke, the Mac parody, the Robot Elders, the robot Propaganda film and their amusement at humans succumbing to a simple sharpened stick. It was all rather brilliant. Classic Season One ep!...

The humor is brilliant in this episode! The way it perfectly blends with the plot just makes a great episode overall...

Multiball Blernsball (I love the scoresheet with Costanza), "Administer The Test" (they got lucky!), the Invasion of the Body Snatchers discovery scream in the alley, and the whole "It Came From Earth!" theater scene start to finish just kills me every time.

I voted 10/10, I think very highly of this one.

Wow, Spicy Weasel, you think even higher of it than me! I'm impressed! Yes, I neglected to mention that the whole Blernsball game was fantastic. The whole bat-shit crazy randomness and inventiveness of it all was commendable. It's a shame this side of the game wasn't followed up in the relatively normal by comparison "A Leela of Her Own"...

Back when I had only seen Season One this probably would’ve been a 10/10 ep, but in light of what the show has achieved since I had to let this one drop a little. I still love it and it has many of my fondest Futurama memories from back in the day when I was a young lad...

Yes, I admit to irrationality with my score.   That episode just hits it with me perfectly.

The Blernsball bases explode as the cycle passes over them - insanity!    I have a big goofy grin just thinking about it......

I tend to rate all eps high though, I'm so sick of most things on TV even the imperfect Futurama's are a delight.
